Ailish walked through the entrance of the festival grounds, the light of the lanterns in the evening shining across her pretty white fur. Cats crowded around the booths, talking loudly, and she suddenly felt shy. She looked around for a familiar face, but saw none. She wanted to turn around and run back to her nice little garden, but instead stood and walked out into the field. She went up to a stall and purchased a lantern, it's crinkled paper shone strange patterns on the silk inside of her cloak.

Her green eyes glowed like the fireflies that darted through the grass just outside of the festivities. She looked around and spotted the the Wheel of Fortune. A pretty tabby cat, maybe a gypsy, would spin it for other cats. Ailish sat on a nearby crate and watched them with an amused look on her face. A warm summer breeze blew at her cape a bit.

Sky was brimming in happiness. She was holding her lantern, and trying to get to the festival's heart through the crowds. Her pale eyes shining, and he ears and whiskers flailing behind her as she bounded through the outstanding lanterns and families.

As Sky was running, the lights turned into some lines, glows, and her vision became a little fuzzy. So fuzzy that she accidentally bumped into a pretty white she cat.

Her paw hovered over the dagger strapped to her belt, but she quickly noticed it was just another cat. She let out a sigh of relief. "Oh, good, you had me scared there!" Ailish laughed a bit. The other cat looked a bit embarrassed, she had nice brown fur and green eyes. Ailish held out her paw, "I'm Ailish Corbon, you can call me Ailish though." She realized how stupid she sounded, of course she would just be called Ailish! She must be jumpy. She realized her paw was rested on her dagger and put it down quickly, blushing.

Sky relaxed a little as the cat named Alish Carbon presented herself. Sky faintly noticed the paw Ailish kept on the dagger. "I'm Sky Starlock, Sorry about that."She smiled and shook the other cat's paw. She grinned a little at Ailish's embarrassed blush, though took no notice of it.
Sky looked at Ailish, "You enjoying the festival?"She asked kindly.

I hope it's not to obvious!" She laughed quietly, although she suddenly didn't feel so happy. She thought back to the last time she had been at the festival. Her mother had been holding her paw, while they watched her father arm wrestle. He'd won a few schillings, and used them to buy Ailish a lantern. She had hugged it close to her chest the whole night, entranced by it's yellow glow. It was the same month her parents had been killed, the thought instantly darkened her mood. She laughed again at the silence she had unknowingly created, and picked up her lantern. "So what brings you to the fields, Sky?" she looked at the other cat, wondering exactly whom she was dealing with. She wouldn't want to meet a mercenary assassin and think they were a page.

Sky smiled. "Would you like to get some ale? It is awfully hot."sky suggested after the silence.

They got up and walked over to one of the tents closer to the center. It was big and canvas, and bright lights shone out of it, Iluminating the silhouettes of cats inside. The sound of laughter trickled through the tent, instantly lifting her mood. She smiled, smelling good food and ale. "Come on!" she chirped, practically dragging the other cat behind her.

Sky grinned as she got dragged to the tent, as she and Ailish took some seats, Sky ordered 2 ales and turned back to Ailish.

The white she-cat stared down at her mug, looking slightly suspicious. The amber liquid started to foam over one edge, which she quickly wiped away from the counter, licking her paw. The ale tasted strange, not quite bitter, but definitely not sweet. She raised one eyebrow at it, then -noticing Sky's stifled look of amusement- grasped it in her paws and took a sip. As soon as the cold glass left her lips, she realized that that had been way too big of a sip. She tried to hold it in her mouth and swallow it slowly, bit by bit, but it was too late for that. A tickle rose in her throat. Oh, no, she thought, then coughed. Ale flew out of her mouth like one of the great fountains in the palace grounds, washing over the counter and onto the grass. She blushed, looking more than slightly, her face already scarlet. She wasn't sure whether to laugh or cry.

Sky giggled a little at Ailish's suspicious looks at the ale in her glass. "It's all right! Just take a little sip-" She broke off as her frien d coughed. Then a worried expression crossed her face. "You OK Ailish? " Sky asked, worried. Then she quick;ly took alot of tissues and whiped the ale from the counter. "Lets go sit on the grass. " she suggested.

She blushed, and the two cats quickly left. Outside, they found an empty spot near a band of troupers, singing merrily. Ailish smiled at the sound of the music. The song was about the peacock and serpent, their flutes made the sound of the peacock, and the lizard horn was the serpent. The white she-cat tapped her paw to the beat of the music. She turned to Sky, "So, what do you do for a living?" Ailish attempted small talk. She still wanted to know more about this strange cat.

"Glad to hear" AS Sky and Ailish were outside, Sky took a seat on the grass, and answered Ailish's question. "I'm a hunter, alot of cats say the best in the empire... i live alone in a biggish house, and i run a small shop."

She grinned. She had told a lot about herself in case Ailish wanted ti know more... The sun made dancing patterns onto the huge blades of grass. The fiddlers really made eautiful music... she sighed in contempt. "What about you?"

I sell mostly little trinckets, also some scarves and cloaks," she looked at the she-cat, she wondered if she would be able to sell anything to her. "You know what you would look great in?" she beamed at her new friend, "this one scarf I just finished making! It would go perfectly with your eyes!" She really hoped she wasn't being too forward with trying to sell things, but the scarf would look good on her.
