Moonlight shone on the lake near the palace. A small, white cat stood out like a sore paw in the darkness of the night, her cloak wrapped around her. Although it was still warm, there was definitely a cold wind blowing overhead, it reminded her that fall would be coming soon. She wouldn't miss summer all that much, it was far to hot for her liking, and she couldn't help but long for the winter, when she could blend into the snow and walk down the streets without attracting the stares of other, more average colored cats.
It had been a long day at the palace, where she worked. A visiting monarch had required her assistance the whole time, and she thought her paws would fall off if she had to run up one more staircase. She couldn't wait to get back to her home and just go to sleep. The she-cat sighed at the thought, her house was barley around the corner, but it seemed like miles away.

Kovu's dark grey pelt had been turned to silver by the moon that hung over his head. He sometimes loved and hated the fact that his dark pelt seemed a light silvery colour. It was like magic but at the same time when trying to train in pickpocketing not the best. Most of the tom was covered by his cape other than the tip of his tail and his head. The dancer was now a officialy in the thieves guild. So his deep and dark blue eyes scanned the mostly empty streets for a potentiol target.
He noticed a she-cat. Small and white as snow. The siamese smirked she seemed like a good target. The she-cat looked tired so she must be out of it. But could he really take advantage of a small cat like her. He glanced around looking for a ppossible open window of a shop or something. If he managed to get in one without the small she-cat noticing him he would be able to brag about it later.
Then the oppretune moment. Something caught the corner of the dancer's eye. It was an open window, hardly cracked but open. Taking a closer look at the store it belonged too he could tell that it was one of the jewelry shops. The large siamese smiled quickly fleeting over towards the window his paws fast and quiet for the most part. He slid both his silver forepaws into the window trying to push it up without alarming the white she-cat that stood only a few feet away from him. Halfway through opening the window he realised this was probobly a job for someone who is better at sneaking. Before he could realise it the window was open. He was in.

The white cat looked around the streets, still quite tired, a strange tomcat seemed to be sneaking around. As the silver moonlight caught his dark fur, it turned silver and glowed, just like the water. You'd never find my fur glowing, she thought to herself, raising her eyebrows. Suddenly, the tom looked up and she saw his eyes, she quickly stopped, almost dropping the satchle in her hand, those were probably some of the prettiest eyes she had ever seen, and they had looked right at her. This cat was obviously a theif, but she had never imagined a theif being so handsome.
She blushed, noticably, and kept walking, if this tom was going to go stealing things, then at least they weren't hers. Too bad for anyone else around here, if they wanted burglars fended off, they should do it themselves. She kept walking, although still watchful of the grey tomcat. After a few minutes of walking, she saw him duck into a shop. The she-cat looked confused for a moment, then it struck her: that was her shop! The white cat dropped to all fours instantly, slinging the satchel over her shoulder and dashed forward with a huge burst of speed, arriving at her door and swinging it open.

Kovu heard the door to the shop slamming open. He froze where he was a silver neckalce that had little blue stones hanging from it in his paws. The tom flicked an ear trying to think of some way he might be able to talk himself out of this. He swore under his breath placing the necklace back down and turning around to face the small she-cat.
It was the white cat he had seen in the street. They had both seen eachother there and now he guessed that he really wasn't as sneaky as he had hoped. He stood there looking at the snow white cat before him. The siameses deep blue eyes scanned her and the surrounding room seeing no other way out than the door or the window he had come in from unfortunatly he had the she-cat standing inbetween him and both of those exits. He stood there as normally as he woud anyother time. No slouching over to make himself seem less of a thret and no making himself seem larger than he really is by fluffing up his fur.
"Uh, hi..."

Ailish instantly grabbed a broom that was leaning against the coatrack and slammed him with it, "PUT." She hit him again, "THAT." Slam, "DOWN." Slam, "THIS." Slam, "INSTANT!" The small she-cat clasped her hands together, dropping the broom and hit him hard on the side of the arm. In a flash she grabbed the necklace from his paw, placed it back on the shelf, then grabbed the knife from her belt, crouching down to hold it to his neck, pinning him down with her knee.
"Ha," she panted, feeling slightly smug, "you didn't think I'd just let you steal my things, did you?" she glared at him, "I took fencing for more than a year and I wasn't even using a real sword. Now make one move and I'll get the real swords out." The tiny she-cat pointed to an ordemental sword, resting on the shelf. She wasn't sure it would work as an actual sword, but it would still hurt if she banged him with it. She was pretty terrified at the moment, in all truth. A theif had broken in to her shop! It was worth freaking out about. Anyways, she didn't really want to seriously hurt this tomcat. He probably had a bad childhood, or something.

Kovu had growled when being hit with the broom. Now he found himself with a knife at his neck and a she-cat telling him where the nearest sword is. The dancer did know his way around a sword he just didn't own one. His blue eyes flickered to glance at the she-cat behind him to the sword hanging on the wall. She was smaller than him so if she ran to get the sword he could probobly end up grabbing her and pulling her back away from where the sword hung on the wall then grab it for himself. But these were just senerios in his head. There was one thing Kovu always knew how to do and that was talk himself out of situations though he had never tried with a knife to his throat and he didn't know this she-cat for all he knew she could be a brutal murderer in her spare time.
The large tom took in a deep breath then quickly moving too grab the paw of the she-cat that held the knife and turn over so that he was now sitting up on the ground holding the she-cat's wrist so that he could control where the knife went to a certain extent. "Now we wouldn't want to be using that would we." He meowed smoothly. The dark tom spoke in a calm voice yet at the same time he sounded slightly threatening as though to warn her he will hurt her if need be.

The small white she-cat let out a little cough as the wind was pushed out of her lungs when her back hit the ground. Her back was suddenly one huge bruise, and hurt like heck, but she tried to keep her cool, even as she felt the cold steel of the knife at her throat. "What are you going to do now?" she raised an eyebrow, trying to hide how terrified she was, "You can't kill me, that would be far too messy, wouldn't want someone finding you killing cats. There's also the thought of banging me on the head with a rock or something, but that would be too slow, I'd get away while you were trying to find the rock, or whatever you want to knock me out with-" she took a deep gulp, "-wouldn't want that ether. You wouldn't be able to reach that sword fast enough ether, I'd beat you there, easy. Being small isn't always hindrance."
She bit her lip as the pain in her back grew a bit, "Listen, I'm willing to offer you a deal. You let me go and I'll give you something you want, and a free dinner. You just can't have that necklace. You could even have the sword if you want." The she-cat raised her eyebrows hopefully. She really hoped he would see the sense in this.

Kovu saw the flash of pain cross the small she-cat's face. All the sudden he felt remorse it was as if the drunk inside had come out only for a moment but he hadn't even touched an ale all day. He was brought back to reality when he heard the she-cat speaking again. "Maybe I will kill you, I could have broken in here as a way to lure you in so that I had a more private place to slit your throat." The dancer glanced at the sword he was fast but this she-cat was small and light weight he needed a new plan.
The siamese needed a way to get out clean but he didnt want the she-cat to watch him thinking for too long or hi might end up with the knife that he was currently holding to the white cats throat at his own again. "What is the importance of that necklace to you?" He meowed calmly moving the knife from her neck to press it against her cheek. She was a pretty little she-cat. Wouldn't want to end up with a big ugly scar. The tom honestly hadn't really heard much of what she had said after you just can't have the necklace.
He wanted despratly to not hurt the she-cat farther than he already had the remorse of the entire situation starting to set in yet here he was practicly sitting ontop of her with a knife at her cheek with the intention to carefully place just the right amount of pressure that the knife would start to cut into her skin not alot but just enough to make it bleed if she didn't tell him what he wanted to know. He hadn't cut the skin yet but the little voice at the back of his head was begging him too. Just a little cut just enough that blood would leak. The tom shook his head trying to clear the thoughts but they still rang through.
Then just a tiny bit of pressure in the right way on the knife. He had done it. The tip of the blade barely pierced but his deep blue eyes could catch the small amount of blood starting to leak from the incision. This was it he was starting to turn into the monster he had resisted for so long and it felt good.

Drops of blood stained her snow white fur, and she tried not to cry out in pain. Her breaths were uneven, and the edges of her vision turned black. He wasn't going to kill her, was he? More blood came out of the wound and she bit her lip, trying not to cry. "It was my mother's!" she gasped, letting her body go limp. Everything hurt, and she wished she could just wake up, like this had all been one big nightmare, but it was real.
Ailish's shoulders slumped. She would do anything to keep that necklace, asside from let herself be killed. But there was nothing she could do. After a few last gasps for breath, she let sleep take her. The room turned utterly silent. The only movement in the whole shop was the shaky rise and fall of the small white birman cat's chest.

Kovu dropped the knife the she-cat's voice pulling him back to the reality of what he was doing. "Oh my god." He breathed moving off the smaller cat to sit by her head. "I-I d-didn't mean too." He sat down starting to try and hold the she-cat sitting up. "I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to hurt you. I mean I did but oh my god I'm so sorry." He meowed with slightly shaky breath. The tom's eyes had almost completely changed from a dark hated to a deep concern.
The siamese slowly stroked her cheek un-able to say how sorry he was for what he had just done he was never a violant cat well he was only ever violent when drunk. The dancer was in a panic. Why had he even joined the freaking thugs he wasnt a fighter he couldn't hurt peopel or else he ended up like he was now. Shaky and unable to know what he is going to do.

The white she-cat coughed in her sleep, which hurt enough to wake her up. She looked down at herself, it wasn't that big of a cut, she would be fine, but it still starteled her how easily she had passed out. She'd never really taken herself for the fragile type, but she was a quite small cat... She looked up at the thief, her tired, green eyes met his worried blue ones, and she tried to hate him. The tom had cut her, and tried to steal from her! She had a right to be angry, she had the right to want to hurt him back, but looking into his deep, blue eyes, she saw actual concern. This cat was not a mindless killer, going around murdering people, then stealing their belongings.
She looked around the room, then realized that she was still losing blood, and was becoming lightheaded again. "In my bag," she muttered, "there's a mix for infections, it's in a little bottle, and is yellow. Go get that, and some bandages, please." Ailish raised a shaky arm over to where she had dropped her bag.

Kovu saw a flicker of hatred pass through the small she-cat's green eyes. The siamese felt as though he had eaten a tonne of bricks. "Okay got it!" He meowed quickly skittering across the room grabbing the bag his blue eye's scanning the contents of the bag. There it is! He thought quickly snatching up the yellow bottle and bandages.
The dancer ran back over to the small she-cat again. "Here." He meowed passing the bottle and bandages over to her. "I cant tell you how sorry I am for this." His paws were shaking slightly as he moved back to sit beside the green eyed cats head. The tom softly straked her cheek trying to show that he was actually a gentle cat not the mindless tom he was before.

Ailish nodded, "Thank you," she murmured, "I understand. You're a thug now." The small she-cat put a paw on his shoulder. "I've heard about them; stealing from the rich, giving to the poor?" She didn't wait for his reply, instead took out the poultice, smearing some on her cut, her paws glowing over it until it became a scab, not a wound, soaking up the strange mixture. Next she took the bandage, sitting up a bit more, and wrapped it around her. At the tom's baffled look she nodded. "You're lucky I'm a doctor," the she cat smiled at him, "I didn't hurt you when I, you know..." she trailed off, blushing a bit, although she felt stupid for doing so, "punched you in the stomach, did I?" she bent over to look at him.
The handsome tomcat looked mostly unharmed, so she shrugged, "Can I just ask you one question?" She cocked her head, "Do I look rich to you?"

Kovu sat quietly listening as the she-cat spoke to him. "I guess I am." He meowed the shakiness starting to subside and his voice now sounding as it normally would. His ear flicked when he was asked if the smaller she-cat had hurt him. The dark siamese smirked a bit. "No, I'm fine." He moewed taking a silver paw to pat against his stomach as though gesturing that he was fine.
When the dancer was asked another question he couldn't help but advert his gaze to the ground for a moment to gather his thoughts then he looked back into the white she-cat's green eyes. "I honestly didn't know it was your shop. Usually the cat's who own these kinds of places have some sort of money." He meowed never breaking eye contact with Ailish. "Anyways you are a doctor doesn't that pay well?" The tom said starting to ask his own questions now.

She waved it off, not entirely sure how she'd known he was a thug, but also not about to admit it. "This whole house used to belong to my parents, when they were assassinated, I just kept it. It's a nice house, as you say." She brushed the poultice, which had dried out quickly, off her fur. "As for being a doctor..." she trailed off, "I'm still a bit new, just quit my job at the palace a few months ago." She instinctively pulled her cloak over to cover her scar, certainly not ready for the thief to know about that.
Ailish stood up carefully, putting out her paw, "I'm Ailish Corbon," she smiled, hoping to put his trying to steal her things (and stab her) behind them, "I've got some fish ready in the icebox, just about ready to cook. Would you care for a bite?" the white cat looked him up and down, "You look like you could use a nice, home cooked meal." She neglected to inform him about her lack of talent for cooking, however, she assumed that frying up a fish wouldn't be all that hard.
