Wash it away with some ale...{Victor,Brenson,Ana}

Victor felt so vulnerable with no cloak as he entered the tavern. Everyone was hunched over, hoods casting dark, ominous plumes over their faces, while all Victor could do was lower his head and cover his face with a big paw.
He plopped himself down with a sigh, mumbling somewhat of an order to the cat behind the counter. He didn't know why he felt so...off today.
He looked around the tavern as he waited patiently for his drink. The tall shadows and shady, drunk figures surrounding him made his pulse quicken. Though it wasn't as if he could afford anything better...
He started tapping his long tail on the metal leg of his chair nervously.

Brenson walked into the tavern with his face showing a blank expression. But on the inside he felt excited to be in a tavern again. He was 1 year and 6 moons old, but for the last 6 moons he had been occupied by the mysterious thefts around Gweillan. As a shade, it was his responsibility to guard the palace at night, which he used to protect it from thefts. But he was afraid he was failing. He had only been in here once before, but that hadn’t gone so well. He knew he wasn’t the best drinker, but he trusted himself that he wouldn’t drink too much this time. He entered the dark cavern lit with dusty candle-light. He preferred to stick to the shadows, as he was trained to see in the dark excellently. He had always been a master at stealth. Every cat here had dark cloaks to conceal their faces. It made Brenson almost nervous to see all these cats concealing themselves. What if they presented a problem? He ignored the feeling and kept on. He sat at a bar stool and quietly ordered his drink. Next to him was a earthy-brown tabby tom, dabble by the looks of him, maybe two, three years older than Brenson himself. He decided to start some conversation.
“Hi.. I’m Brenson, palace shade. What about you?”

Victor, jut receiving his drink, felt somebody loom near to him. Grasping the tall glass in his large paws, he turned to his left and saw a small, dark, speckled tom sitting on the stool next to him. Upon invitation, he took a long sip of his ale and, wiping the froth from his mouth, replied, "Victor. Artist. Nice to meet you, Brenson." He swerved back to face the table and took another swig of his alcohol.
A crooked frown spread across his maw and he slid back to the tom sitting next to him.
"Um...I don't mean to be rude or anything, but you look a little young to be a shade."
He immediately regretted what he said as soon as it left his lips. He feared the spotted cat might take it the wrong way...
"Sorry, um...," He paused, "I was just curious....,"

The door burst open ans standing in front was Ana with a silver decorated scarf and forepaws in the Air, a bell bracelet on one wrist " The Funnn has Arrived!~" She half sang, the usual's used to her unique arrival as the she-cat skipped in looking for a new face to to cheer up, or maybe pick on. Her eyes scanned the room as her skip slowed to a stalking like walk as her target, or more like targetS were spotted, a Shade and a Wanderer by the looks. She turned to walk towards the and instead of sitting on the stool next to Brenson She hopped up onto the bar and took a seat there " Hello~ I hope you don't mind my intrusion but it seems I've never met the pair of you yet, which is unusual since I dance here every so often, that and the fact you two are so Studly~ I kid! I promise I mean no harm!" she laughed, her tail, out of habit, twitching wildly in amusement. She looked over her shoulder to the owner and smiled before taking a silver bell off her bracelet and giving it to the owner " Their drinks are on me~ So drink as much as you like! " she purred to the two toms.

Brenson could understand where the older cat was coming from. “I actually inherited the job from my parents. They were both Shades also. ..Cleo and Marden? Perhaps you knew them? They ran away when I was 6 moons old, exactly a year ago.” He swallowed down the hurt of his parents and their deserting. True, he had chosen to stay, but it was still difficult for him. His bob-tail twitched, a nervous habit of his. His drink arrived and took a large gulp. His vision started to blur and everything seemed to be tinted yellow. The floor seemed to curve ever so slightly.. Brenson was drunk. <i>Oh no oh no oh no!!</i> he thought. He tried to sit up straight and act like nothing was going on. He was pretty good at this, and practiced it at the previous visit alone. But then he drank too much and got really drunk. He decided he would drink slowly and space out each gulp.
Suddenly a she-cat came barging into the tavern. He looked over his glasses at her, and was relieved to find out she was paying for the drinks. “Hi…” he said shyly.

Victor nodded slowly. "I see. Now your parents, I don't thi--," He was cut off by the loud intro of a beautiful blue she-cat, skipping and dancing right up onto the bar and paying off the two tom's drinks.
Victor looked up quizzically and a smirk spread across his face.
He leaned out of his seat and took the she-cat's dark paw, bringing it close to his chest. "Why, hello there, love," He kissed her hand gingerly, "I cannot thank you enough for paying for our drinks. How generous...,"
With a flick of his long tail he slid back into his stool, crossed his legs, and leaning far back, took another long sip of his ale. He was beginning to feel a little woozy from the alcohol, but hey, that's what he was here for, right?
Victor took a moment to appreciate the golden marking beneath her eye as he gulped down his drink.
"Now, what is your name, me dear?"
He covered his mouth as a "hic" escaped.
The room began to slightly distort before his eyes and become out of focus.

Ana giggled at the toms, they obviously were new to drinking, or just hadn't been given time to be able to build up their alcohol intake. She purred in amusement as Victor took her paw and kissed it before trying to play smooth. She only broke eye contact to look at Brenson who seemed to be a bit shyer than his companion and she leaned down to pat his head gently " Hello to you too, no need to be shy, I don't bite~ usually~. " she giggled, sitting back up to look at Victor who apparently desired her name " My name is Anastasia, and I'd like to know your names if you'd be so kind. " she purred, crossing her legs and leaning her fore arms on them, her tail swaying gently. She was enjoying their company even though they had only just met, and found it greatly interesting how opposites attracted, even in friendships! She took turns looking at the toms and ignoring any rude comments that slipped the mouths of other drunks, quite used to the environment. " Do you two come here often? " she purred, her kind smile still displayed on her maw.

Brenson smiled at Anastasia's kind demeanor. He decided to lighten up a bit. The drink had helped with that, though. "The name's Brenson, call me Bren." His voice waved. Against his better judgement, he lifted the glass and took another sip of it. He readjusted on his seat, settling down on the stool more comfortably. He slipped off, and sprawled across the floor. He felt wild, like he needed to get up and do something. He leaped onto the dancing platform, and, before he knew what he was doing, starting dancing horribly. He shook his stub, shook his head, shook his whole body terribly off-beat with the upbeat music. He said loudly and distorted, "C'mon, Ana! J-join me! You took, Victor!"

Victor looked up at Anastasia, "Name's Victor. A pleasure to meet you."
His shoulders jumped up and down and he suppressed a laugh as Brenson slid off his chair. He really was a horrible drinker.
And what was he doing now...dancing? His eyes widened. Suddenly he jumped to his feet and covered Anastasia's eyes with his paws. He leaned in and whispered into her ear, "Bren's dancing! Shield your eyes!"
It really was a horrible sight---though it was very amusing! Bren had some moves, but...not good ones. He lifted his big paws from Ana's silvery eyes.
"Remind me never to buy Brenson a drink." He told the blue.
When he heard the spotted tom call their names, he turned to Anastasia and smiled, holding out a paw.
"Care to dance?"

Ana put a paw over her mouth to suppress a giggle as Bren slid off his chair and stumble over to the dance floor and was about to get down to show him a better way to dance when her eyes suddenly got covered and she tensed slightly, trying not to do anything rash, knowing Victor meant no harm. She laughed, shaking off the urge to shoo his paws from her eyes as he whispered in her ear before he lifted his large paws and she stared right into his eyes with a smile. " I don't know, sometimes it's good to just let loose and have some fun." she purred, looking back over at brenson's horrible moves and the dancer in her wanted to correct them bad until Victor held out a paw and asked her to dance. She smiled slyly and put her paw in his " As long as you promise to be a better dancer" she laughed, taking the lead she walked over to the dance floor, stepping to the side and using her free paw to catch Brenson as he stumbled her way " Woah there tiger! Not even a cat with four left paws dances that bad! " she teased with a giggled, helping him stand straight and she did a simple side step and foot shift while keeping Victors paw in hers, letting him know she hadn't forgotten about him, but didn't want to be rude to his friend either " There, try that, even a kit knows that simple move! " she giggled again. She liked her new friends, the others she had met seemed to be bent on keeping themselves a secret but these two just seemed to want to have some fun and dance, something she was VERY good at.

Bren fell over, but felt himself pushed back up by Ana. He nodded in gratitude, which in turn made him feel nocuous. He hoped the feeling would go away as the she-cat taught him some moves. He replicated them to no avail, and crashed over the edge of the platform. His vision was very hazy now, probably affected by the fall. He could see the flashy bar lights dance through his barely open eyes as he started to quickly drift in and out of consciousness. He saw a few drunks stare at him and continue on their way. He soon got up too quickly, causing his head to hurt. He said; “I.. I think I’m gonna—“ but it was too late. He threw up on the floor, dropping to the ground immediately. Someone handed him some sort of drink that tasted terrible. Soon after a few sips he was able to get back up again. He felt better, but still a little shaky. He scratched his head nervously and twitched his tail. He pushed his glasses up with his paw. “Sorry ‘bout that. Now where were we?”

Victor cringed and rolled his eyes. Oh Brenson...oh Brenson. He might have just met the lad but he could tell now...Victor would have to look over him. He smirked.
He turned back to Ana apologetically, "Yeah, um...hehe, I'm sorry about...him." Brenson was one heck of a cat. It seemed he was always running into trouble.
"So, uh, I really liked those dance moves you were showing us," He changed the subject, "you know, with the step and slide....thing...,"
Then he smirked, "But I don't think I'd be very good at it, with this old thing." He tapped at the splint on his leg with a claw.
He could recall meeting a dancer before, Jet, and she had been dancing in Festival Fields. He had alway liked watching others dance. It was like a whole new type of art.
"I think I'll stick with my jazz-paws." He shook his paws around in the air and laughed.

Ana's fur fluffed as she watched Brenson go over the edge of the stage and her hand slide out of Victors hand as she started to walk towards the now puking tom. She looked back over at Victor in Sympathy " It's alright and just because you're different doesn't mean you can't learn a dance or two. . just give me a moment. . . " She jumped off the stage to stand beside Brenson, the puke not phasing her as she rested a paw on his back as he got up " How bout you drink a bit of water instead of ale now? Okay? " she waved her other paw and a bar worker immediately came over with the glass and Ana handed it to him " Here, and sit down, I don't want you hurting yourself even further. " she purred gently, and once she had gotten him to sit she got back on the stage and after another glance at Brenson she took Victors larger paws with her smaller paws and held them up before looking at his feet " Alright, come you can do these little moves, I know you can!" she purred in encouragement as she made a few slow small and simple steps, urging Victor to do the same.
