Cloak covering her mouth, forehead, and back, Kelvie sprang to the next roof over. Her jewelry had vanished, replaced by the simplicity of a cloak and usual linen bandage. Her only other accessory was a spear strapped to her back, in case of an emergency. She was out thieving in the night, targeting no one in particular.
She paused suddenly on the roof of a house, ears straining. When she heard nothing, she flipped over the edge of the roof, swinging through an open window she had seen from a different roof. She crouched on two legs in the bedroom of a sleeping she-cat, deep in slumber. The house was pretty nice, symbolizing she was pretty wealthy. Kelvie didn't know that outside, another feline on a nearby roof had seen her entrance. She slipped across the room, picking the first decorative box she found and opening it, revealing sparkling bracelets. She plucked up a ruby on a bronze cuff, closing the box with it in her paw. She flit to the window, scrambling up and onto the roof with the ease of practice. She was perfectly awake, insomnia made it hard to sleep anyway.
She darted from roof to roof with the bracelet in her paw before dropping into an alley. There, a young tom slept, his only protection from the elements a thin, ragged blanket. Blinking her pale blue eyes with sympathy, Kelvie lay the ruby-studded cuff a tail-length away from the orphan before climbing back to the roofs.
Even a trained thief like her didn't know she was still being watched.

Devyn lay on one of the rooftops, staring up at the night sky. He had planned on going thieving as usual but found himself to be tired this night. He stifled a yawn as he thought of reasons why he could possibly be tired. Perhaps it was that he was getting up early? But that didn't make sense, he'd always gotten up early and he was never tired. Maybe it was that he actually did things in the day other than take cat naps. Usually he used the day time for napping so that'd he'd have energy for night-time thieving but lately he'd been exploring Gweillian a bit more than before. All that exploring cut into his napping time too.
His jaws parted to let out yawn and his ears twitched as he heard the sound of someone climbing the roof. He reached for his dagger first, whoever it was could be an angry citizen or even worse one of the Shades. That didn't appear to be the case though as the figure continued to club onto the roof. They certainly didn't appear to be some citizen investigating their roof. The cloak hiding away most of their face gave that much away. And they didn't look like a Shade either so Devyn didn't know what to make of them. Except that they might not be friendly so he unsheathed his dagger and got on his hind legs ready to fight if need be.

Kelvie pulled herself onto the roof, lifting her head to look around. The first thing she saw, however, was a gray tom wielding a dagger. She froze and reached for her spear, but she didn't grab it. She wouldn't make the first move, but if the tom was hostile, she would have no choice to fight. "What are you doing out so late?" She challenged mildly.
Climbing fully onto the roof, Kelvie positioned herself in front of the tom. Even if she didn't have time to grab her spear, she could always defend herself with magic.

"Well well, I could ask you the same. Now let's not be hasty and get in a fight, we wouldn't want that now would we?" Devyn said as he put his dagger back in it's sheathe and raised his fore arms up in a mock surrender. This should be interesting he thought to himself. Suddenly he didn't feel so tired, the prospect of having someone to mess around with seemed to have dove sleep away completely from his mind and now all that was left was the bubbling excitement of what was to come. "Well sweet heart what'cha gonna do? I'm wide open for an attack if you wanna fight."
Of course if she did decide to attack he wasn't going to go easy, nope. This was just him playing around. Besides, he was trained in combat. Being the Guild Master of one of the most elite Guild's wasn't a title earned easily after all. And he also had his magic. WHile not as formidable as his combat skills it was still something.

Hesitantly, Kelvie lowered her paw from her spear. "You better not be lying." She grumbled. She looked the tom up and down, taking in every curve of his muscles and every splash of shadow on his already dark pelt. He seemed to be playing with her, or trying to. She would have to do everything she could to show she wasn't a toy, or else she could come off bad. This cat was dressed almost like a thief, but that was only her opinion. Not every cloaked cat was a thief.
To her eye, the tom seemed to hold himself high, higher than an average night-goer. This implied that either he thought too highly of himself, thought he could easily beat her, or he actually was important. With the third of the list always an option, Kelvie would have to be careful.
