"Finally." Tomb sighed, hopping atop a tall smooth rock, the hot spring's waters grazing it's base. He'd, amazingly, taken the day off for himself, finding a nice nap at the hot springs an excellent way to relax his stiff muscles. One could only flip onions and rabbit meat in a heavy pan for so long after all. He was situated just above one of the smaller springs, its pool probably only about as big as a the trunk of a large oak. He could hear the voices of other cats around, voices that soon faded into a quiet buzzing for him. Almost like a fly. Or maybe a cicada? Yeah, a Cicada. He ignored them, but silently prayed none of them were rough youngersters. The light gray tom would surely find himself pushed into the warm waters, shocking him awake, making his muscles stiff and taut all over again. 'Eh, any cat stupid enough to push me in won't be laughing for long.' he thought to himself, clawing minutely at the rock.
Tomb finally gave a great yawn, stretching his front paws out before coiling himself into a ball. His tail wrapped around his entire body, settling under his head to make a small pillow. The cook's breathing soon began to slow, forest green eyes fluttering shut. He heard himself begin to purr, but didn't stop it. 'Yeah, this is nice.' was his final thought before he drifted off.

Kelvie hopped from rock to rock, breathing in the warm mist from the Springs below. She settled on a rock silently, crouching there on her hind legs. She could hear some voices, though she didn't know them. She had left her spear at home, as well as all her jewelry for that matter. The only accessory she wore now were her bandages. Slipping down the the edge of the spring, she squatted down. Gently she unwrapped the linen cloth from around her front leg, exposing the burn that would never grow fur again. She sighed in contentment as the steam wafted around the old wound, soothing it. She dipped her leg into the water, feeling the hot liquid removing the discomfort of her lack of fur. Looking up, she suddenly noticed a tom on a nearby rock. His light gray fur reminded her of someone....oh yes, this was the cook who had talked to her through the window of his house not too many days ago. She realized he was sleeping, and hoped she hadn't made any noise coming down, though she knew she had been mostly quiet the whole time.

Tomb wasn't exactly one to relax himself to such extremes, but he had to admit, this had been one of the smartest ideas he'd ever thought up. Even better than when he added that chorizo he stole from the humans into his bean and rice soup. The steam felt excellent on his muscles, even if he wasn't actually in the burning waters, and as the force hot air made him breath deeper and deeper, causing sleepiness to rise exponentially. He'd be here for a while, that was for sure. Unless some one disturbed him, whice he secretly doubted. Falling into the realm of rest, the young cook began to see the faint colors of dreaming, only spashes of course. No defined shapes or objects. There was light blue and dark green mixing first, then a blob of magenta. And a faint wash of translucent orange. He could feel himself smile in the outside world, from the sheer pleasure of the relaxation, and took no notice of the loosening muscles in his tail. The large clouded gray appendage slid away from him, falling down the smooth rock face at a snail's run. However, soon, gravity prevailed, and the large fluffy tip of his tail fell into the hot, steaming waters. It took Tomb all of 3 seconds to react, but when he did, it was catostrophic. A fast wave of sparking fur ran up from his plumming tail to the top of his head, and he jumped, giving a loud screeched. Gravity pulled him down again, but his land was way to sloppy on the rock, and he fell muzzle first into the water.

The water wasn't too bad for Kelvie, who was pretty good with heat. What she wasn't expecting, however, was for the tom on the rock to suddenly jolt upward with a shriek and fall into the water. Kelvie leaped back, her linen bandaged in her left paw and her old wound exposed. She was so startled that she didn't replace the wrapping, instead she just stood there, frozen with shock, waiting for the cook to reappear on the surface.
