[shadow=red,left,300]Diablo[/shadow]
The dark shadow of a feline flickered as he slid into the cover of the canopy of trees, twitching his ears as he felt the comforting steam roil off of the Hot Springs. He wore a solemn expression, as always, as he sat on his haunches and glanced around, making sure it was silent in the coverage of the glistening, silvery moonlight. His crimson eyes glanced around, his hackles rising as if it were a sin to pad into the crystal clear water that reflected the light of the silver, full moon.
The ebony warlock padded hesitantly out of the coverage of the trees, something he was so used to from living inside the Witches' Hollow. Hopefully no one noticed him, for it was truly embarrassing to be seen around the Hot Springs when he certainly was barely even allowed inside any other quarters unless it was a festival. Diablo, the crimson-eyed warlock, glanced around one final time, leaping onto one of the nearby stones, feeling the warmth of the heated rock press against his belly fur. He laid his head down, his blood-red eyes half-closed as he rested them on his dark-hued paws. The steam clouded around him, hazing his vision but somehow comforting him. He had been away from the tranquility and peace like this for so long, and he felt a pang of loneliness when he thought about Calamity. 'I hope she will come to see me,' he thought, twitching his ears. Why, out of all of the things he had thought about in the past, was he dreaming about meeting up with a female feline? Was -this- what love was like? Worrying about a she-cat more often than he did hunting? If it was, then love was sure an awkward feeling.
Diablo shook the dew droplets from his ebony-hued pelt, looking like a shadow in the silvery night. Fireflies hovered around the Hot Springs, and the warm water radiated with comforting, relaxing heat. Not only that, but the silver stream of moonlight gave the mirror-like springs an almost surreal feeling to them. The serenity was something that could not simply be ignored in the eyes of Diablo, even a warlock that had not been comforted like this in so long.

Calamity
Maybe she should of followed her rational mind and stayed at the castle after all. Where it was cool and not so muggy. And flame lightened. Calamity flinched just a tinsy bit as a shrub leaf brushed her hind quarters, tickling her tail as she passed through the foliage. She quickly huffed indignantly, puffing her lighter blue gray chest out and squaring her shoulders. The queen's maiden had been here far more times than she could count. Why was she suddenly so afraid of tredding here? Was it because it was night time? Unlikely. Any potential attackers wouldn't be able to successfully over power her in this mist, and the moon was bright enough for her to see clearly. Any creatures about? That was also unlikely. The creatures that frequented the forest tree tops and bottoms at the Hollow knew well not to invade areas visited by felines. Maybe she was just having an off day. She hadn't made any cookies that morning, afternoon, or earlier that evening. None of her other maidens had accompanied her out on the town either. 'Well, all of them are older and more mature than me. Who wants to watch over co-worker when they have an heir to look after the same age?' Calamity's logic was starting to make her mood sour. It was better not to think too deeply into things, especially concerning some one like her.
Scrabbling up the sheer side of a large rock, the blue gray she cat squinted, blue eyes piercing through the misty black/gray air of the evening. It was so hard to breath with the hot water and steam, and Calamity could feel her claws beginning to slip from the moisture clinging to the boulder below her. Suddenly, thought, a shape came into view, just ahead. It wasn't too far off, maybe two ale carts away, and was laying atop another one of the boulders. It took Calamity all of 3 seconds to realize it was a cat, though there identity was still to hard to decifer. Could it be Niasi maybe? The pelt color seemed to be dark in shade, black it would appear. But the thought of Niasi, a she cat who lived best in the company of others, out here on her own was highly unlikely. And the only other choice was Diablo. And what reason would he have to venture out here alone, where gweilien citizens could see and attack him? She chose not to acknowledge the small fluttering beat her heart took at the mention of the warlock. She never got such a feeling when she was around her other friends, male or otherwise. 'Am I.....do I have a crush on him?' The blue gray she cat nearly gasped at the sudden thought. It was true, the two had become quite close, closer than what most would feel appropriate with a witch/warlock. But she wouldn't have guessed she'd actually see him in a romantic sense. 'Even though he is really handsome.' the off-paw thought made her tail quiver.
'Oh what am I thinking? I'm trying to figure out who or what that shape is over there!' her inward though was a sharp yell, focusing her brain back to the task at hand. She built power in her lower body, snapping them out to hop to another rock, a short bit closer to the unknown shape. But still not close enough to see who it was. Calamity repeated the action once more, than again, before standing up on her hind legs, squinting hard enough to make her eyes throb. The shape was still a bit difficult to see, but it was indeed a dark, ruby eyed, male cat. Diablo. The queen's maiden yelped in alarm, dropping back on all fours, ears purple with embarrassment. 'Ohhhhh. Not good not good not goooood!' she thought in a panic, ducking down in a useless attempt to hard herself. It was quite ridiculous to even suspect that the tom wouldn't be able to see her. She was almost right infront of him. But she ducked anyway, keeping her eyes on the water. The water, that reflected the other felines eyes ominously.

The ebony warlock strained his gaze, attempting to see through the shadows that blocked his view as he turned to the sound of crackling, crunching leaves and snapping, breaking twigs that were brittle to the touch. He clenched his teeth, bracing himself and digging his thorn-sharp claws into the stone beneath him, his belly fur brushing up against the smooth, grey stone. "Wh-Who's there?" he murmured, perking his ears to catch the sound waves of the soft pawsteps hitting the earthen ground beneath the mysterious feline. He perched himself on the stone he had been laying on just moments ago.
Diablo lifted his head to see the figure moving closer, his whiskers twitching in alarm. However, he caught a familiar, entrancing scent before he bunched his muscles to leap and attack. He almost jumped, however, when the blueish she-cat pretty much got up in his face, attempting to see who the shadow was. He blushed, thinking about how sweet she smelled and how beautiful she looked under the silver pool of moonlight. The warlock sat back on his haunches, trying to hold back a chuckle when he saw her duck behind the stone nearby him. "Calamity!" he purred, kicking up water and splashing her to get the queen's maiden to come out from behind the rock. "Come on. You do not need to hide from me, Calamity."

The exclamation of her name made the she cats fur spike to pin pricks, if they weren't already. How embarrassing, to meet the cat you were just thinking about in...that way. 'Oh Creator!' she wanted to shout aloud, but kept her mouth shut. Though a tiny peep of alarm made its way out when the darkly furred tom slashed water at her, jokingly assuring he meant her know harm. How ridiculous. She knew he didn't. Lifting her nose pointedly, Calamity stretched her foot down, kicking a few splashes at her older counter part. "I wasn't scared. It's just dark and misty. And I couldn't see who you were." she huffed, but grinned. She scrabbled up the rock face again, giving a small leap to join the warlock on his own rock, tail wagging excitedly. Why not? It wasn't long enough to show anger. She may as well use it to show positive emotions.
"So, what's brough you all the way here in the east at this time of night, hmmm? Hoping to have a bath with out getting attacked or persecuted?" she giggled, nudging the older feline gently with her shoulder. The action in made her nose brush his shoulder blade, giving her a good sniff of his scent. It was so musky and natural, like the shadowy tree tops he roamed. Her ears warmed. She took that moment to settle down, rump hitting the warmed face of the rock. It sent a chill through her. "Gosh this place is gonna be crowded when winter rolls around." the queen's maiden heard herself murmur offhand, looking down at the clear water. (short)

The dark-hued warlock perched on one of the grey, damp rocks, his eyes lighting up as he met the gaze of the she-cat's sparkling eyes. When he received a retaliation of water in his face, he shook out his fur, scattering droplets on the younger she-cat. "Oh, really? I was practicing my stealth skills in the darkness," he replied smugly, smiling crookedly. He flicked his tail, wrapping it around the queen's maiden when she leaped beside him, attempting to balance on the stone. "Hah, I can imagine that," he replied, feeling the warmth of Calamity's fur brush his, "don't expect to see me here during winter. I'll probably be hibernating or something." He chuckled, but in all honesty, he could never go for long periods of time without seeing the beautiful, younger queen's maiden. He glanced down into the steamy water, making out their reflections against the moonlit hot springs. He pressed his cheek against Calamity's, closing his eyes as he felt the warmth of her. Usually he would not go to festivals, but he believed that the queen's maiden he longed for so much had changed that. Every day, he thought about her and wondered if she was doing well. At times, it had even been hard to hunt without feeling her by his side. She was beautiful and kind; she was the very image of everything he could have ever desired. He wondered if his mother would be enraged, considering this was a feline that was part of the court. 'No,' he thought to himself, 'I could never live without Calamity.' Diablo glanced at Calamity, noticing how beautiful her gaze looked in the moonlight, glittering and practically looking like the water that reflected the moon's rays. He put his paw on her's, blinking slightly. "Calamity," he meowed, "do you think anyone would disapprove of us being together? I would really love to stay with you and protect you for ever, no matter what they believe."
