It was a late night at the Main Street Tavern as Avery sat at the bar that he worked from. His brittle and boney paws wielding two slender metal tools as her picked away, creating another of the now popular sympath lamps while the drunks filed out home for the night. Yet the Tavern stayed open, waiting for the night-owl patrons to file on in.

Leo entered the tavern, smiling. He had just finished building his new boat, "Hanavaria's Ghost" and couldn't be prouder, so of course, he had gone to the tavern to celebrate. He carefuly brushed bits of sawdust off of his carpenter's belt (which he wore everywhere), not wanting to look too scruffy at the finest pub in Gweillan. He had already tried to smooth his fur, but had given up after many failed attempts. He sat down at one of the barstools near the tavernkeeper.
He reached into one of the many pockets in his belt and pulled out a few schillings. "Some ale, please," he slid it down to the other tom, then noticed what he was making. A sympath's lamp, ah, this must be the tom who made them. He decided to ask him more about it once he had been given his drink. He didn't want to take chances, seeing if the tom would forget.

Avery chuckled as he leaned over the bar so the sandy tom could hear him better. "No ale here son, If you're looking for fine food an' drink ya' should go to the Lion's Head." He chuckled in his deep voice as he set down the sympath lamp. "But we have a long selection of fin grog made from....uh...potatoes..." He explained, rubbing the back of his head with one boney paw. His crooked tail sweeping the dusty tavern floor as he turned and pulled a red, oblong, bottle off the shelf behind him. "But if you want it. This is the closest we have to ale." He winked.

Leo hadn't the slightest clue as to what the bartender was talking about, he could have sworn the sign had said it had ale. After a moment of contemplation, he decided that he just hadn't been down here in far too long and the prices had gone up. "Um," he glared at his paws, "you got any of them fancy little peices of bread?" he asked, not entriely sure of their name, "With the..." he waved his paws around in the air, as if trying to grab a word floating in front of him, "the garlic and butter on them?" he looked at Avery hopefully.
