The damp grass tickled to feet of the marbled she-cat as she twirled and leaped. It felt so strange to dance without the constant tinkling of her bells, but for once her instrument wasn't strapped around her waist. She couldn't risk her bells becoming rusted, and with this downpour, she wouldn't doubt it for a second. Rain trickled down off the end of her whiskers, and she was completely drenched. She slowed to a stop, craning her head back to stare up at the story clouds. She smiled softly; she loved the rain. Her bright blue eyes turned back down to her paws, and quietly moving them again she felt the will to practice some of her harder moves.
Jet danced in the wet grass, working in the middle of the storm simply because she had hopped nobody would be out at this time. Audiences threw her off when she needed to try things for herself. But she couldn't deny longing for company, and as she slipped nit he dew and landed on her rump with a light splash, she stayed there sitting. Jet huffed; she hated practicing! Always had, always would. But she would always practice. She hadn't gone through all of that for nothing...right? She turned over her paw, looking down at her scarred paw pads. She forced a smile. It didn't matter if it got her to where she was now. Her ears perked up, glancing around hopefully now for somebody to talk to. She didn't want to go down memory lane.

Victor stared down at his painting in disdain. The cool blues and greens dripped down the soaking canvas, mixing at the bottom into abstract swirls. His face pinched and he swore under his breath. How would he know it would begin to rain? He had been quite proud of the landscape. Hours had passed by while he mindlessly stroked the page with horse-hair paintbrushes, but now the scene had been reduced to slush. Just drop it. It's not a big deal. Past the scolding mews echoing in his head, the kit inside of him was throwing a hissy-fit. Rain always ruined everything. Everything. After collecting the few homemade acrylics that he had with him, he grasped the damp canvas and began to walk farther into the field on his hind legs. He wondered how long he could go bipedal without upsetting his splinted leg. He guessed the rain hid feel nice on his pelt. And the muscles coursing through his ears did feel quite relaxed, there was no reason to be alert. The field was abandoned, as far as he could tell.

Jet saw nobody, and with a soft frown, sat up and got up onto her hind legs. She walked through the rain, the grass brushing against her scarred feet as her sodden tail swooshed behind her. Even when drenched, the marbled feline found a way to appear somewhat graceful when she moved, her sleek muscles visual under her coat, all of which were toned from years of practice.
She halted abruptly, spotting a figure limping this way slightly. Was the cat hurt? Concerned, Jet instinctively ran towards the cat, forgetting how she was normally very shy. As she approached the dusty-coloured tom, she slid to a strop in the damp grass, panting slightly after running and dancing. She noticed the splint on his leg, meaning the injury wasn't fresh int he least. She had worried he may had gotten hurt was out here, but the tom seemed perfectly at ease, even looking slightly annoyed. "O-Oh," she breathed, "I'm sorry, I er," Jet lowered her ears. Well this was awkward. See, this is why you're shy, she reminded herself. What could she say? She had ran over because she thought he was hurt, and he was hurt. But Jet could quickly piece together by the sling that the handsome tom had been hurt for a long time, and she wasn't one to bring up old dirt. She held her other arm with her paw, biting her lip stupidly.

Was that...I cat he saw? He had been almost positive this field had been abandoned. Apparently not. The lithe frame had approached the soaking tom with light accent in it's step. A dancer? No. No, a dancer wouldn't be out in this weather, would they? As it came closer he could make out the sleek figure of a she-cat. She soon stood in front of him, mumbled a few words, and started to shift around awkwardly. What just happened? he thought. Then the tom smirked. She-cat? Time to do what he did best! "Hey, um, a-am I dying?" He put on a cheesy faint face and rested his forearm dramatically on his forehead. "'Cause I think I'm looking at one of Heaven's angels." Even though he only used his pickup lines for fun and games, this she-cat was quite pretty. Her glossy fur was a rich brown, swirling marbled stripes swimming in her pelt. When his twinkling eyes caught hers his ears twitched at the piercing blue.

Jet blinked in surprise as his lips pulled back into a smirk. He apparently didn't seem to notice or get offended that she had thought he was wounded because of his limp. In fact, the dancer was completely caught off guard by his comment. She was SOAKED. She hardly looked all that good, but was that...a pickup line? A an extremely cheesy, extremely flattering pickup line?
"Hehe..heeehehehhe.......hehehehehheheh!" She covered her mouth with her paw as she started to laugh uncontrollably. Trying to catch her breath, she managed to speak. "Hehe, I-I'm sorry," she laughed, "I was just so sure you were actually dying for a second there!" The marbled feline giggles, finally swallowing down her laughs to smirk up at the slightly taller tom. He was quite handsome, she'd give him that. He was coated in a dusty coloured brown, not as deep as hers bur still riddled with darker tones. His eyes were....green? No blue? She couldn't tell, there seemed to so many colours in there as she smiled, flicking some water droplets off her whiskers. "I wasn't expecting to see anybody out here, my name is Jet," she purred casually; this cat seemed funny, most flirts irritated her but she had been so sure he was actually hurt she couldn't help but laugh at the fact that he had her going for a second there.

Victor pulled back his lips into a toothy grin. Not as a flirt, but as himself. A genuine smile. He liked this one. "So, uh, you're a dancer right?" While waiting for an answer, he studied her carefully. Her pelt was sprinkled with rosy browns and light creams. Judging from her tall, pointy ears and long, swooshing tail she was an Elite. He couldn't tell which was shining brighter, her gold hoop earrings, or her icy blue eyes. "And you're an Elite, right? That's cool, that's cool. You got some cool magic-spell-thingies? And may I please just say, when I saw your eyes--," He glanced at the grass around him, as if scanning the area, "I think I dropped something. My jaw!" The tip of his tail curled.

"A dancer?" She echoed, then with another grin, nodded curtly. "Yeah, I was out here practicing, but the rain doesn't really make it easy." She tilted her head, pondering somewhat. The ear with the heavier bronze earing instinctively lowered from the weight of the glimmering metal. It made it look a little floppy as her other remained upright, but with her kittish grin she hopped it didn't look too bad. It was comfortable, anyways. She laughed at his second comment, "Thanks, hehe yeah, I'm an elite. My magic-spell-thingie is kinda boring though," she admitted with a shrug. It was helpful when she needed to take something from somebody, or get someone to shut up, but it made her sad that half the times she'd sing somebody would keel over and start snoring. Jet smiled slightly, narrowing her eyes and changing the topic in her head. "I'm..." She narrowed her eyes some more. "I'm still trying to figure out what colour your eyes are," She grinned something. "It's kinda like a game," Jet decided, flicking her tail.

Victor smirked as her weighted ear drooped. "I'm sure your dancing is fine out here." From what he could see she practiced far too often. Her muscles were toned and her paw pads were cracked. The young tom blinked when she asked him about his eyes. How curious. This was the first time some cat hadn't focused on his twisted--and still twisting--leg. He put his arms behind his head and crossed his legs as if he were reclining on a chair. "Then a game it shall be," His eyes narrowed cooly sand he then began to laugh, "Ha, to tell you the truth, I honestly don't know what color they are." His yellow-green-blue-whatever-they-where eyes twinkled with a little laughter of their own. To his relief, the haze was beginning to roll back. His fur was no longer dripping, but damp, and he drew a paw over his face to wipe the moisture from his brow. *ShortShortShort*

"First to figure it out wins," She chimed with a small wink. Another silly habit of the kittish she-cat. As the rain slowed to a stop, and light started to shine through the clouds, Jet craned her head back to take a peak. The land still smelled freshly of rain, and even though she made no more to dry her damp fur, she wasn't dripping like she had been previously. With the rain gone, she suddenly longed for her belt and absentmindedly put one of her paws on her waist. Her icy eyes flickered back to the tom. She noticed he hadn't introduced himself after she mentioned her own name. Her lips slid into a crooked smirk. "So, what's your name? And is being an artist a full-time job of yours or a hobby," she added, nodding to the canvas and acrylics he held at his side. She suddenly blinked sympathetically. "Oh dear, the rain took it's toll, hm?" she frowned softly, able to see some of the colours dripping down. It still actually looked pretty cool though, and Jet wished she could afford to by an artist's paintings. they were always so imaginative, sometimes the colours they used reminded her of dancing somehow. Hah, somehow she'll find a way for anything to remind her of dancing, but art and music had it's special way, like they all fit together in some psychological puzzle of hers.

Victor smirked shyly. "Ah, sorry, 'name's Victor." He had almost forgotten about his painting until Jet had pointed it out. He held it up and scanned over the canvas. "Yeah...I was painting a landscape scene of Festival Fields until the rain came. It's kinda of a, um, a wash I guess," His ear flicked, "It's useless now." What was this? Victor was talking to a she-cat without flirting? 'Must be an off day. He acknowledged this and brain-stormed a few pick-up lines, "You look cold. Want to use me as a blanket? I'm pretty waaaarrrrmm, you suurreeee?," and "If I earned a coin for every time I saw a gal as gorgeous as you, I would have three cents," came to mind, but when he tried to form the words, they vanished on his lips.

Jet's jowls slid up into a cheeky grin. "Nice to meet you, Victor~" she mewed in a sing-song voice, happy that the rain seemed to have ended. She perked her ears, looking back at the canvas curiously. "That's a shame," she said with genuine dissapointment.
The marbled she-cat had also noticed he wasn't flirting. Although goofing around was funny, it was nice sometimes to make a break. Made friendships feel more real. Of course, she could never find herself hating those cheesy pick-up lines, and she always seemed to have a snarky retort to every one of them. She wasn't one to brag, but she'd probably have heard many already. If only she too gained a coin for every time she got a pick up line. Maybe she wouldn't be stuck on the streets dancing. But she decided she liked Victor, he seemed funny and she liked making new friends.

Victor smiled, baring his uneven teeth. "So, um, where do you live?" God, I sound like a creeper! he thought to himself and his broad shoulders jumped up and down in a silent laugh. He found himself hoping that he might see this cat again after this meeting. It wasn't so easy to make friends when most cats pass you by on the street, most probably mistaking you for a dirty beggar. Brenson was practically a drinking buddy, and he had barely spoken a few words to other commoners. Paintings weren't selling well, either... He felt a twinge in his leg, and quick shot of pain crossed through his eyes. He balanced his canvas on the ground and put his weight on it. That's better...I've just been standing on it for too long.

Jet laughed in a bell-like chime, "I admit, I don't get that question very often. I live in the Eastern Quarter." The dancer nodded, flicking her tail. "House F15, I just liked something a bit off to the side, it's actually not too far from here," she recalled. "And you?~" she purred, her blue eyes wandering around but her mind still focused on their conversation. It was a little bit of a bad habit, her short attention span. She was completely listening, in fact she was still music the source of the question and what his reply might be. Maybe he wanted to be friends? The thought made her excited! Jet loved the concept of making friends, and as she fiddled aimlessly with the earing she was wearing, her blue gaze flickered curiously back to Victor.
