The moon was high over Gwelliain as Auri prowled silently through the Witche's Hollow. She loved it, the moon shining on her fur, the willow leaves whirling around her much like the curly long fur that graced her face and the moon that was the same colour as her near blind pale-blue eyes. Stopping near a swamp like mass of water she noticed stones that went across the water and began to skip over them, her half-harp tied to her back as she sang: Willow, Widow, Broken Tree, Maple, May Pole, Merry Leaf...

The trees whispered quietly, and the leaves under her paws rustled as the she-cat leaped from branch to branch, trying to do it as silently as possible. She certainly wasn't in the best of conditions - the she-cat's pelt was filled with leaves and dirt, and there seemed to be an injury on her left back leg - some of the trees were still a bit slippery, and she'd actually fallen off a tree.
Riven was truly glad that there hadn't been any cats in her presence to see her like that - after all, she was usually quite good at climbing trees.
In distance, she saw - more or less - a water source and started moving forwards, but skidded to a halt as she heard a sound... somebody was there, singing. Guided by curiosity, the she-cat silently set her paws one after another, moving closer to the feline.

Auri stopped on one of the stones in the middle of the water. Her dark ears pricking up as the slight sound of paw on dirt disturbed her, as well as the sudden screaming barrage of thoughts of a nearby cat thundered in her untrained mind, making her wince in pain and shake her head rapidly.
Over the sudden onset of her mind she whirled around on the rock, a pained snarl on her face as she looked at the pale shaped blob amongst the grass with her near blind eyes. "Stop shouting!" She yowled, shaking her head even more violently than before as the opposing cat barraged her mind-reading mind with loud thoughts.

The dark she-cat's shout almost made Riven jump - she hadn't expected a reaction like that - after all, her pawsteps had been so silent, what else could have informed the cat of her presence? "I'm not shouting," She narrowed her eyes slightly, leaping off the branch just by the water.
"What makes you think I'm shouting?" She kept looking at the she-cat, trying to stay all calm - but of course, she was thinking stuff - and quite a lot of stuff.

Auri clamped her paws over her ears to fall to the ground whimpering as the opposing she-cat's mind shouted even louder. "Shouting, shouting. Loud mind, hurts head." She mewed, her dark fur standing up on edge in terror.

Riven seemed to finally starting to understand - there were a lot of kinds of magic - and mind reading was one of them. She didn't possess the ability to read minds, nor wanted to learn it, for she found it interesting not to know what others were thinking of her.
"My apologies," She spoke, then took a deep breath and calmed down until the only thing she was hearing was the whispering of the winds.

Auri's paws came away from her ears, her pale eyes wide as barely a whisper was heard in her mind, amazing her. "So quiet..." She mewed, in amazement. Putting one dainty paw in front of the other carefully as there was barely any voice to guide her.
After a while she stood in front of the opposing she-cat. Her pale eyes useless, only revealing a pale shaped blob. "Sorry for voice-shouting..." She whispered, lifting a paw to touch the she-cats face before speaking again "...Pale-Cat?" She said, almost as if it was a question. Tilting her head to the side questioningly.

Still attempting not to think much, the she-cat watched the feline before her. "It's alright," She voiced, an eyebrow slightly raised, now in confusion. Pale-cat? "Pale-cat?" She repeated the question, now using her voice instead of thoughts. "I'm Riven, but I guess you can call me anything."
{Gotta go~}

Auri stopped to sit in the dirt a small smile gracing her face. "Okay River-Cat, I know what you look like now." Auri chirped as she scratched behind her own ear. "Are you hunting? I can trade you something for a some meat or mushrooms..." She chirped, jostling the pack, tied to the strap that held her harp.

'River-cat? I guess that works too~' She thought with a small shrug of her shoulders. Now that her eyes were used to the dark, she could see the fellow feline more clearly - and she could of sworn that she'd seen her somewhere before - but the last time she'd seen the she-cat, it had also been dark.
"Oh yes, I am," She replied with a small nod at the dead bird and bow attached to her belt - she'd been up in the trees, mainly trying to hunt, attempting not to be seen and trying not to get lost - all at the same time. "A trade would do no bad for sure. What can you offer?"

"Hmmm..." Auri hummed, turning slightly to open up the small pack she carried and pulled out three items. "I have: Feathers enchanted for the fastest flying arrow. A necklace for the clumsy paws. A paint that glows in the deepest dark and a cloak of many pockets...Which do you want to trade for?" Auri smiled, placing a bag of cyan blue feathers, a silver necklace with a blue topaz stone, a jar of green-blue paint that glowed lightly in the night and a patchwork cloak on the dry dirt ground for Riven to examine. "These are what I have to trade."

Riven watched Auri pull out the items one by one, curiosity visible in her eyes - she was always up for a good trade, especially when she loved the offers. And the fellow feline's offered items looked quite good for the sandy she-cat.
She tilted a paw up to touch one of the bright cyan blue feathers. "These are nice," She spoke, observing the feathers - she could really use them in arrows and such. "What would you like for 'em?" The she-cat shifted her sight back over to Auri, then set the large, dead bird with the shiny black feathers by her feet, as well a fat squirrel and a necklace with a rabbit's paw.

Auri stared intently at the three things she could trade for the enchanted feathers she'd offered. Tilting her head slightly before speaking. "I will trade you the fast flying feathers for the squirrel and you can have the cloak of many pockets as a gift." Auri mewed as she put the bag of magical feathers in the cloak and wrapped it up to hand to Riven. "The feathers are enchanted and will fly faster than any arrow and fletched they will never break." Auri whispered as she picked up the fat squirrel and examined it's pelt for holes, thinking that it would make good food and gloves.

The feathers seemed truly magnificent - and such a beautiful tone of cyan. The she-cat could definitely use them for making faster and more efficient arrows.
Riven blinked at the she-cat in surprise as she also offered the cloak of many pockets. "Oh thank-you very much~ It's really nice of you," She smiled and took the two items from the trouper and handed her the squirrel in return.

Smiling, Auri nodded in reply before accepting the squirrel and clutching it tightly in her paws as she spoke. "Thank you..." She mewed as she looked around the empty swampland. "I think I'll go home now..." She decided, despite not even understanding it herself. Before stuffing the squirrel into her pack and bolting off into the dark.
