The cats heart was actually pounding, and it wasn't because of the long run from her own home, where she had been debating coming. The message was sent two days before this night, and Renly knew if she hesitated any longer to face her cousin that it would bring uncertainty. The night was a dark, and warm, but really the weather wasn't clicking in her mind at the moment. The moon hung just almost full in a partly clear sky that shown with stars, though it brought a eerie silence and it made the assassin uncomfortable.
A owl hooted in the distance, the stealthy bird of prey out on its midnight hunt and its call made Grimm raise her emerald eyes, looking to the stars almost longingly, maybe saying a prayer, maybe cursing her existence, or just in thought, pondering why she had done what she had, but all in all she really just wished that she was back at the tavern.. drunk, passed out on one of Avery's tables or in one of his rooms. The she-cat swallowed hard, it wouldnt be long now, Vincent's house was just over the coming hill.
That slender form bounded up the slope silently, hood covering her head, the only item she carried with her, abandoning the bow and the crafted arrows in a special hiding spot in her house. Renly paused momentarily as she reached the top, staring at the nice little building that concealed the only family she had remaining with a bit of fear. A sigh slipped from her lips before finally the assassin slipped to the door quickly, glancing around before lightly tapping at the door. Maybe he wouldn't answer..

Vincent sat in the center of the floor in his home, cross legged with one of his daggers in paw. It'd been a while since he had practiced his fire magic with his daggers, and tonight seemed like a good night, silent and warm. He held up one of his weapons and narrowed his eyes, feeling his paw heat as he saw the faint glow of a flame. As it grew he flattened his ears with concentration as he attempted winding the flame down, the glowing fire wrapping like a vine around the glinting metal. Until the knock at the door startled him.
Vin perked his ears back up suddenly at the knocking, letting out a hiss as he dropped his dagger to the floor, but not before the flame disappeared entirely and the thing managed to knick his leg. He let out a growl as he spotted the tiny bit of blood but shook his head and got to his hind paws, placing both his weapons on a nearby table since he didn't have his belt equiped at the moment. All he had on was his cloak, and he pulled up the hood over his eyes before making his way to the door. "This better be somebody bloodied and dying," he snarled to himself before he opened the door, his irritation melting when he saw who it was.
The tom blinked for a moment and tilted his head slightly, "Grimm, what are you doing here at this hour?" Vin's tipped tail swayed behind him, his gaze reflecting curiosity as he noticed the assassin didn't have her weaponry equipped.

Her heart skipped a beat, the door swung open, Vincent's expression threatening but it seemed fade and as it did Ren could feel that clump of fear slide down her throat as if she just swallowed a rock. The assassin tried to look presentable, attempting to make her sudden ghostly features unnoticeable.
"Sorry, to come so late.. Uhm, You sent for me. Two days ago?" she muttered, her voice strong though inside the anticipation of whatever he wanted to talk about nerved her greatly.
"I was busy or I would of came sooner." The cat lied, gesturing to the inside to go in , though the want was faded, and really not there.

The hooded feline narrowed his eyes slightly as he stood looking at his cosin while she spoke. His tail lashed slightly for a moment before he gave a small nod and moved out of the way for her to walk inside, closing the door after her. He turned unmoving from his spot and began speaking while she walked. "I sent for you because we need to talk," his voice sounded like that of a strict leader now, no longer a family member welcoming another. "The situation with that white tom, what's his name.. Avery." While speaking Vincent began walking towards her, his slightly shadowes eyes glancing towards his daggers on the table for a brief moment.
"If I remember correctly.. you aimed your arrows at me." Vincents ears flicked back as he glared at Grimm, anger slightly glinting in his eyes as he began to circle around her, his paws behind his back. "At, not only your family member, but also your leader," he growled, stopping when he came back in front of her again. He lowered his hood and tilted his head slightly as he looked at her.
"Do you have an explanation?"

She moved in, slowly but got there, those green eyes tracing the room, the furniture, paintings along the wall. Everything seemed untouched, though her gaze stopped on the infamous daggers that laid oh so dangerously on the table to her right. Large audits flicked back a moment before returning to a erect position, Vincent beginning to speak to her.
Renly turned to watch him, severed tail flicking back and forth. The words of her cousin seemed to be like daggers, whipping past her head threateningly close. The cat nodded, watching the ground a moment as finally her employer asked for explanation.
"Well Im going to start off, with correcting you.. Your not my leader. I do things for you .. cause.. cause, I do." she said with a bit of bravery, this situation was not great for a assassin.. least one with her expertise. The Maine coon was made for killing, and retreating, her slender form and strong backlegs were for the escape, not fighting.
" I couldn't let you hurt him, Vin. I have , a code. You know this.. I only kill contracted, Never any with innocence.. and Look at him, He couldn't kill a fly. " Grimm skipped over the fact that she had feelings for the tavern keep, not letting it hint in her voice, least she tried to keep it that way.
"Other then that.. I barely know him." The assassin lied, turning away .

The thugs fur bristled with irritation at her words, his tall pointed ears flattening to his head as he glared at his family member. He didn't speak a word, and let her finish her explanation before the tom lunged to the table, quickly grabbing on of his daggers that lay there before turning back to the female, pointing the dangerous weapon under her chin.
"Listen to me, I may not technically be your leader but you know better than to cross me. Having a code is one thing, aiming your damned arrows at me is a completely different situation," he snarled, slightly stepping closer to the assassin with the daggers point still aimed directly under her chin. He didn't wish to really harm her, but he couldn't afford to always worry about his own cousin shooting him in the back, literally. Anger burned in his eyes as he stared into Grimms eyes, gripping the hilt of his dagger tightly before yanking it away from her neck and turning his back to her, staring at the door.
"You nearly shot me to save a cat you supposedly 'barely know'. You risked your life for him." Vincent turned back to her, "You're either a fool or you're lying to me. Tell me, which is it?"

His sudden actions were almost predicted, the anger in his eyes could be read and further more, he really did have a right to be pissed. Renly's hackles raised, those emerald eyes looking down at the dagger that was aimed at her throat, a scowl forming along her maul.
"Then I guess i'm a fool." the words slipped from her lips like a poisonous snake about to strike it's prey dead, the venom could be tasted in the atmosphere surrounding the two. Ears pulled back against her skull, the assassin glared though her heart raced inside her chest.. if a fight were to break out, she knew that the advantage was leaning towards her cousin.
Despite having a eternal, unconditional feeling of love for the tom cat, something was boiling inside at this moment, taking a quick glance around, Renly observed her surroundings .. just in case.

Vincent let out a snort, his ears flattened to his head as he gritted his teeth and stared at his cousin. He tossed his dagger slightly carelessly to the side, his ear twitching for a small second at the metal clink of the blade hitting the floor before he speed walked up right into Renly's face, placing his paws on her shoulders and gripping her, snarling"I know you Grimm, you aren't a fool. You can't lie to me, you're covering up for something. You need to tell me what," Vin growled, his claws unsheathing and slightly digging into her flesh for a brief moment before shoving her back away.
