The streets were bustling with activity as the kingdom prepared for it's annual week to two week long festival. Stands were being put together, ribbons and flowers were being wrapped around and on everything it seemed, and laterns were being made and decorated. The Russian Blue was walking down one of the streets already pretty much done, which meant it was less crowded, the cats going to help with the rest of the kingdom. Ana looked at all the decorations and even took a flower from a decoration, sticking it behind her ear, the small red flower a nice contradiction to her fur color. She was in dancer mode, blending in with the crowd for the most part nodding to others and giving small, soft answers. The sun bathing through the holes above their Caved Kingdom warmed the air even though it was still practically morning, some of the early signs that Summer was around the bend.
Above the streets perched on one of the many decorated archways, the shadow like cat watched the streets diligently, paw placed on his blade, ready for any mayem to ensue. his jaws parted in a slow yawn, he had be patroling the streets since dusk of the previous day. He had really hoped everything woudl go well during the day so he could get some sleep before continueing on with his never ending job. He watched the Blue she-cat with slight interest as he scanned each and every one of the cats in the crowd. He was looking for any slight sign of crime.
Ana walked in a zig zag motion, unaware of the Tom on the Archway watching, but it wasn't like she had any mayhem planned for the festival, at least not this one. She turned a corner to take a short cut, bumping into a larger cat, obviously tom, and obviously a thug. Her eyes narrowed in distaste, she knew she couldn't do anything rash, especially with a facade to uphold and she took a step back " Excuse me, I was just passing through to get to the beach " She mewed softly as the tom advanced. She could smell the ale on him, a smell so strong on him it could curl whiskers and she covered her sensitive nose. " Aye now, no need to rush, I could use some company " the tom sneered and reached out only to have Ana step jsut out of the way. Oh how she wished she could just take him out right now, but she had to stay in disguise " Sorry, I don't accompany drunk toms, especially toms who were apparently BORN Drunk! " She hissed taking a few steps back so that she was now in the main street again for others to see if he tried to persue, but apparently that didn't stop him as he continued to advance.
Mikhail continued to look over the crowds, watching merchants, vagabonds, servants all working together to make the empire look lively. He took notice to the Blue she-cats zig-zag motion and entering the corner and his whiskers twitched. "Hmph" he grunted and rolled his stiff shoulders, turning his gaze back to the crowd. It was until the she-cat re-entered his vison, pursued by an assumingly drunk thug that his interest and anger showed through. Thugs... they made him sick. He sprung up and ran silently along the roof, blade and chain ready. With a quick motion he lashed the chain out and hooked it to a iron chimney, and sent his blade straight between the blue shecat and the Thug. On his hind legs he slid down the chain and grabbed him by the scruff of his neck. "You think you'll pick up a she-cat like that?" he slammed the tom into the ground and snarled, a twisted glint in his eyes. He whipped his blade and released the chain from it's hook and put the blade to his throat. "Are you alright Ma'am"
Ana started to get pissed, Was the tom dumb as dirt? Her ears flicked as she heard metal meet stone before the blade was thrown between herself and the thug, causing the thug to snarl angrily and Ana to fluff out her fur in shock, causing her tail and scruff to double in size. She watched this new tom slide down the chain and confront the thug . . . agressively some might say, but she would have done the same thing if she were Captain Blue at the moment, but she wasn't. Her fur had begun to lie flat again when Mikhail approached her and she smiled, back to her usual self " I'm fine thank you, My whiskers are a little singed from his rank breathe but I'll recover. That was a nice move sliding down on that chain, it's thin but sturdy, it's a type of steel isn't it?" She looked back down at the blade with interest, weapons always appealling to her more dangerous side and she realized she had slipped. She was suppose to be a weak, know nothing about weapons dancer! She coughed and looked at the thug that was still lying on the ground dazed " I mean... it's a really shiny weapon! Thank you again, come to Ty's Tavern sometime, your next round is on me. " She did a little awkward curtsy and even gave him the flower she had borrowed in a way before starting to turn to walk away but the thugs sudden attempt to get up caught her eye and she had to think for a moment, what if another drunk approached her? She was still tired from her journey and didn't have her sword nor her smoke bombs on her. She looked back up at Mikhail " Actually... I'm really not that strong, and there are really a lot of drunks out and about with the festival coming up but I need to get to the ocean, do you think you could help me out? Please? " She whinned to add effect and dialated her eyes to make them look bigger.
Mikhail Lifted his hood and ajusted his stance to keep an eye on the thug before speaking again " No prolem miss, i'll be sure to have him locked up if you wish for it" he sniffed and looked around for any other drunkards on the loose. He raised a brow at her question about his steel chain. Odd for a mere dancer to know about weapons. He'd let it pass " Yes it's a very good match for my job i'd say." he nodded to her and bowed " I will ma'am, thank you" he took the flower and turned it in his paw before hearing the rustling of the thug. He gripped the blade in his hand and smashed him upside the head with the blunt edge "Stay down!" he snarled, teeth bared before straightening himself and flicking his ears " I suppose i have the time, just allow me to dispose of this low life" he said coldly before turning to the tom and binding all four of his paws togetherand kicking him into the wall. " My shades will be here for you shortly" he snarled in his ear before turing back to Ana " Lead the way miss"
Ana admired his steel cold personality to low lives like thugs, but she assumed to him pirates were just as bad. She didn't flinch as he thwacked the thug once more and tied him up, her tail actually twitching in amusement as she breifly remembered how her Companion would tie up other humans the same way, but made them walk the plank as punishment. " He's just a drunk don't be too hard on him. Though some time behind bars may make him go sober" she laughed before turning around on one foot before leading the way " I never got your name my knight with shinning blade, do you mind sharing? " She purred as she set a haste but managable pace, her scruff fur bounced slightly as she walked, and occassionally skipped, down the street. She gently put a paw on his chest to move him back a step and moved out of the way herself as kits ran down the street, bumping into anything and everything, a couple fighting over who would be the peacock or who would be the creator and she chuckled before leading once more " My name is Anastasia " she announced out of no where, her eyes feasting on all the decorations as she made her way through the kingdom by memory, stopping at a corner or two to let others pass by real quick.
Mikhail followed behing her blade and chain in hand, He saw that glint in her eyes at the twack, the tying up. No doubt this she-cat was mysterious, hiding something perhaps? " Crime is crime my lady" he said in a stoney voice. "I am Mikhail, Shade Kaiser of the Empire" he replied to her question, following without hesitation, keeping a close watch on her movements, every tail flick, pawstep, and prance she made he took note of. "A beautiful name for a beautiful lady" he said, a slight sliver of charm seeping through his cold and cruel exterior. He thought for a moment, why was this she-cat heading to the ocean. A small thought crossed his mind causing a scowl to cross his face. What if she was a Blue-blood, or THeif, Assassin perhaps? He shook his head. Preposterous! How could he think suck a small and delicate flower such as this be involved with such grimey folk such as the guilds.
" Mikhail? You seem to be a charmer with some handsome scars to accent your lavish features under all that anger~" She half sang. Shade Kaiser huh? She would have to be careful around him and tread lightly on subjects. " I'm honored to know The Kaiser of the Shades himself is willing to take time out of his busy busy day to escort a little dancer like myself to the ocean. " She glanced over at him, keeping her voice soft. She could see his wheels turning and her grin got even bigger " I guess it would do no harm to tell you why I'm heading to the ocean. I need some shells for a new outfit for the festival being a dancer and all, and my guilty pleasure is to watch the Human ships sail and wonder what it must be like to sail the sea's " The lie about the shell came out smoothly and without fault as they passed under the archway that marked the Beginning of the Southern kingdom. The decorations were scarcer here but even the little bit that was present helped the place looked a bit more lively. The smell of the ocean was faint but tickled her nose and she found herself picking up the pace slightly, wanting to feel the sand between her toes and the salt from the air on her fur.
Irritably twitching his ear at her song he continued to follow. The scars he had he wished he had never recieved. Markers to remind hi of his terrible mistake, his brothers death, his hatred of Thugs. "Most of my work takes place at night anyways" he tried to play off how glad he was to have something to do. Sitting on that perch was so boring he could just die. "Shells eh?" he laughed on the inside. How foolish was he to think she was apart of the guild. He slowed his pace for a moment and gazed admirably at the archway. Such magnificent workmanship... He shook his head and continued on following her " The Sea's hold a dangerous price for some, rittled with pirates..." he commented on her seemingly harmless dream.
