Leaning heavily on her cane, Leis hobbled towards the furthest edges of town. It was a journey the limping cat didn't take often, due to the distance between her home and this damned place. However, the Doctor knew what would sooth the ache in her hurting leg whenever magic wouldn't suffice to dull the pain anymore and more often than not, it was a nice soak in hot water. Due to the shortage of a decent sized tub at home however, Leis had to be satisfied with the hot springs, not that she was complaining. As she neared the edge, she signed, raising her hurting leg lightly to lean her full weight on her right, trying to ease the pain a bit. Her long tail pushing against the soil beneath her to help keep her balance, while she gently let the cane thump down in the short grass. Grabbing on to the branch of a young tree on the shore, Leis slowly lowered herself on the ground, danging her leg in the water with a content sigh. Oh yes, there was nothing better then a nice soak for a deep pain. Usually magic did its job just fine, however Leis knew that with the overuse of her magic as a painkiller, she would eventually need to use stronger magic, building up an immunity. And if the doctor was honest, she used her magic way too often, whenever she miss stepped and pain flared up in her limb, she would clasp her paw, tingling green with magic, upon her ailing limb and pump magic in her system to dull the pain. It couldn't be good. Slowly stretching her leg, the gray she-cat closed her eye, releasing a content sigh.

Kelvie lay on a stone at the Hot Springs, her forelegs out before her and her hind legs relaxed to one side. Her head was lifted and her eyes were closed. Evening was coming on, but Kelvie had no intention to leave. She was satisfied to just lay here at the hot springs for a while, hours perhaps. She didn't have a specific reason to be there, she just liked the hot, soothing waters and smelling the steam that wafted from the pools. Kelvie was just about to open her eyes anyway when she heard a content sigh from somewhere below her. Opening her eyes, she saw a cat below her, on the opposite side of the hot pool, soaking a seemingly injured leg in the water. Tipping her head, Kelvie called, "Are you all right?"

The silence was enjoyable, soothing her nerves and calming her from the long walk. if only she weren't so damn proud, but wasn't pride all she had left? Enjoying the calm and silent, she lowered her head, about to release another content sigh, when she heard a voice cut trough her peaceful silence "Are you all right? Her ears perked up before her gaze did. Hooded orange eyes took in the appearance of a younger she-cat and she narrowed them slightly "Oh I'm just dandy!" she growled under her breath, before grabbing for her cane. Unsure if the young she-cat was a danger or not. Being back stabbed usually did leave one with a paranoia and she knew it came from the most unlikely cats nowadays. Once again she rose her gaze, yet this time together with her voice "Depends on who the hell wants to know!" she bellowed back to the form of the she-cat across her, the hot spring effectively still separating the snarky doctor from her visitor. It wasn't personal... okay maybe it was. She had something against everything that did breath on days like these. A scowl formed on her face as she placed a paw on her leg, to rub it lightly under the surface of the water.

Kelvie started at the older cat's tone. 'Woah, what the..' She thought as her eyes widened. She didn't move from her spot, so the gray cat wouldn't think of her as a threat. "I'm Kelvie, a jeweler." She replied. She wasn't wearing any of her accessories, only the linen bandage wrapped neatly around her front leg.
She drew her hind legs under her and looked down on the older feline with her leg in the spring. She blinked at the staff the cat reached for. 'That's sort of like a spear...with no head.' She thought, her eyes sparkling with interest at the sight of the cane/weapon.

At the introduction Leis tilted her head to the side, orange eyes caressing her form carefully. Fluffy hind legs, decent length tail, earrings. and a rather unique coloring. She stared the younger cat in the blue eyes for a short moment, before catching sight of the bandage around her paw. "Injured?" she asked, voice sharp and her questions to the point "Leis the name, a doctor, if its an injury let me check it." she still loved her job and it wouldn't do to let a youngster run around with an injured front paw. After her accident Leis had become very cautious about injuries at the limbs of other cats. She disliked the thoughts of others having to suffer trough a limp like she did. slowly shifting her weight lightly, so that her hurting leg was deeper in the water, she took her gaze of the younger cat, however keeping a perked ear turned towards her. her eyes roamed the area around her for a short moment to ensure safety, before she glanced back at her unexpected visitor.

Kelvie was startled, to say the least, by the offer. Or more, command. She hadn't really expected Leis to be a Doctor, although now that she thought about it, the occupation did seem fitting. She shook her head quickly. "Oh no, it's not fresh. It's months old, and fine." She insisted. It wasn't only that she didn't want to bother the old Doctor with her small wound, but her statement was true. She had been burned over 6 months prior, and it was healed. "The only reason I wear the bandage is because it isn't exactly a pretty sight to look at, missing fur and all." She said.
To prove her point, she stood and lifted her left paw, putting most of her weight on her bandaged led.

Raising an eyebrow, the older she-cat just tzked "Show me anyhow, t'is my job." she spoke, before she leaned back, pulling her leg out of the water so it was in vision "we wouldn't want you to end up like this." she spoke with a bitter edge to her voice, motioning to her scarred leg, before matting the patch of soil next to her with her long tail. She let her leg fall back into the water slowly, her tail rolled up in her lap with her cane above it, while she kept her gaze focused on the young she-cat. In overall her conversations partner seemed healthy, a good weight, not too thin, nor too heavy. she stared at the bandage again with a frown. she could put her weight on it and apparently there was no lasting damage and yet, the older cat didn't know weither to just trust the words or not. "Ya better get it checked out once more then once too less." she spoke calmly, the edge disappearing out of her voice as she patiently stared the other cat down. What was her name again? Kelvie? it sure was an original name. Waiting for her response her mind started to waver in different directions. Maybe it was a bad idea to ask about the scars of another person, maybe she would feel offended.

Kelvie opened her mouth to reply, and shut it just as quickly. This cat was a lot older than her, and a LOT wiser, probably. Kelvie could tell that Leis was smart, and wise as well.
In the end, Kelvie nodded, leaping across the small gap above the pool to a rock next to Leis, then down next to the Doctor. With her left paw she undid the linen wrap, letting it fall to the ground. Underneath was a ragged pink burn scar. It wasn't a small burn, mind you. It looked like Kelvie had shoved her leg into hot coals; which, actually, that was exactly how she burnt herself.

Once more an eyebrow rose as she watched the young cat jump across to her side. God what she would give to regain a skill like that. With a bitter sneer she waited for the younger cat to undo her bandage, grabbing the paw rather roughly in her own, she began to feel around the scar. "Can you move it normally?" was the first thing she asked, a strange glint in her eyes, when she gently tilted the paw in its natural movements, flexing the single digits of her fingers, pushing out claws lightly. It seemed okay "No pain when moving, or a stiff feeling?" orange eyes snapped up to blue ones, watching her reaction to the movements she did with her paw. "Tell me if it hurts." she just murmured, her paws gently tracing the scar and the fur around it. Burns were nasty. She had seen plenty of them and none really healed well. The fur having been singed off and the skin damages beyond repair, burns left the nastiest of scars if you asked Leis.

Kelvie gulped when she reached the ground and saw a flash of a sneer on the old doctor's face. She should have had the sense not to practically "show off" in front of a cat who could no longer perform such agility. She dipped her head briefly in apology as she started answering Leis's questions. "I guess it is a little stiff sometimes, and it hurts a bit if I hit it off of something. Other than that it's pretty okay."
She wondered if the older cat would ask how she got it. She wouldn't mind the question, although accidentally shoving her leg into hot coals isn't exactly the most heroic of tales. Although she didn't really expect a cat like Leis, even if Kelvie didn't know her that well, to be all that interested in another cat's History.

"Mhm... Stiff as in like, the skin feels like it stretched too much?" she asked shortly, trying to move it again and indeed noticing that the limp seemed rather stiff "The pain is normal, t'is more sensitive now." she just spoke calmly, continuing with her inspection of the paw. She had dealt with much bigger injuries, much bigger problems, had helped cats get back their movement where she herself was limited and she had helped save lives. But nowadays it was almost useless. Noticing that the scarred part of her leg was out of the water, leis scowled, pushing it back in with a sneer. Oh how she sometimes hated this limb of her and wished she had just cut it off. But she know the risks of amputations, the high death rate. While there were a lot of herbs there were barely none to keep ones patient asleep enough to go trough the whole procedure of a clean amputation. shaking her head free of those thoughts, she concentrated back on the younger she-cat.

Kelvie looked at the rippling picture of the old Doctor's leg under the water. She mentally battled with herself, and finally the curiosity got the best of her.
"Um...madame, if you don't mind me asking...." She paused, unsure how to word her question as she looked the the gently rippling water. "How did...that happen?" She finally asked, bracing herself for an outburst about how it wasn't her business.

Ears flicking back slightly as she stared at her leg she frowned. what to tell the youngster? She decided for a clouded version of the truth "Got attacked." Releasing the paw of the younger cat she grabbed for her own hind leg, gently probing the muscle. The pain was lighter, while still there and throbbing. Lifting her left paw she watched as the paw glowed a soft eery green, before she gently pressed it onto the leg to suppress pain when she would stand up. It was just a breath of magic, to make sure that after this relaxing semi cure, her leg would not act up again. grabbing her cane, she leaned her weight on it and her good leg and started the miserable journey to get to her feet.

Kelvie could clearly see the doctor was trying to stand up. Kelvie leaped to her paws, ignoring her bandage on the ground, and placed a gentle paw under one of Leis's forelegs, inviting her to use Kelvie for support but not being too forceful.

A frown on her face, she glanced at the younger she-cat "I can do this." she muttered, pulling herself up from the ground with the help of her cane, her long tail pressing at the ground to push herself up. It had always been a useful tool, her tail that is. if she didn't have her cane she would use her tail to keep herself balanced, however it needed a good brush and a lot of cleaning at the end of the day because of it always being on the ground. sighing she patted the dust carefully of herself, before fixating her gaze back on her company. "So, if you don't mind me askin, what were you doing here?"
