Azael sat there in the field, his mind working as he thought on the lovely event coming. What would he make his beautiful wife? It had to be perfect! To match her of course. The Large tom purred, feeling his cheeks burn under his fur, icy eyes gazing to the stars and the bright moon that loomed over head. Alone, that is how he liked it most of the time, not a cat to enjoy the company of many others, only a select few that could actually understand him... and his boundaries. The cool hair brushed through his pale fur, sending his dark brown locks aloft in the breeze. It was a peaceful night... it was only just a wonder if it stayed like this. In his luck, a random cat would come galloping into the lonely fields and interrupt his peace, he would actually bet himself money on that. Yes. Its possible.

Meanwhile in the forest outlining the field, Zake sat in a high branch; armed crossed behind his head as he stared at the sky. It was such a peaceful night, sadly though this fact didn't calm him. It made the tom uneasy and for good reason. It seemed like on calm nights like this, those blasted will-o-whisps would appear out of nowhere and attack him.

"A guy stumbles into a cave and the stupid flames never let it go." Zake rolled onto his side, letting out a small sigh as he got comfortable. He had almost succeeded in falling asleep when his face slowly started to grow warmer and warmer, until it was way to hot. Snapping his eyes open, he let out a startled yowl, pushing himself backwards from the will-o-whisp in his face. Claws scrapped against the bark when he remembered that he was in a tree, but it was too late and soon he was falling.

Branches and twigs snapped and tugged at his pelt as he tumbled to the ground. At last minute though he was able to spin around and landed heavily on his paws; pain traveling up his limbs as he froze there for a minute, waiting for it to dull and go away. Looking up to the limb he had been resting on, he narrowed his eyes at the floating flame, laughing silently at him from above. A growl bubbled in his chest as he concentrated his magic in the palm of his hand before shooting ice shards at the monster. It let out a hiss then a cry of distress as it's bowl shattered, flame going out.

"Hahah, take that you stupid flame!" Smirking victoriously, Zake messed with the hilt of one of his two hooked swords before growing quiet again, eyes widening in horror when he realized that there were more flames suddenly appearing around the tree; their flames burning bright with rage.

"......oh for the love of............." In a heartbeat he was off sprinting through the forest as fast as he could go, maneuvering around the trees with ease. But no matter what he did, the will-o-whisps couldn't be shaken. "Oh man, oh man, oh man!" He burst from the forest into a wide open field, still running at full speed. If he could make it to town, he could possibly lose them. Maybe they would be to skidish to go that far.

Zake had been so focused on running fast, he didn't noticed the other figure until he had collided with it. The impact knocked the wind out of him, and left the tom breathless lying on the ground. He groaned standing up, the whole scenery spinning for a few horrible moments. "Uuuugh....what the hell did I hit, a brick wall......"

The large tom sat peacefully, his curled tail wrapped around his side, flicking contently. The cool breeze continued to whistle in a docile nature, singing the songs of autumn as it played in symphony with a the rustling leaves and the chirping chorus of the crickets. It was to peaceful, he could only sit there and play various situations that could ruin this moment for him. Though what was about to happen, didn't pop in his head once.

There was a sudden thud in the distance, causing him to glance back, bows knitted with a bit of interest before it grew silent again and the male returned his gaze to the sky. Inhaling deeply, the jailer would let his eyelid's slip shut, shielding those icy blue hues to from the world. It was suddenly that the wind picked up a moment, making his fur ruffle, and sending a cold chill town his spine. Though after a moment, there was a scent... A scent of smoke and ash, and another's mingled in with these, but before he could react the sound of rushed paw steps came ever so close. Turning to investigate, only to take a cat's lower body to the face, Azael flopping over with a few growls and groans.

"Hey, Buddy. What the big deal?" The tom of shades of brown would rubbed at his head before attempting to shove the other feline off him. "I ought to - " Aza would begin, a low rumbling emitting from his chest as his deep gruff voice rang from his throat... but it didnt take long for his anger to fade, and his attention to be else where... The Will-o-whisps watched them both, flames sparking as they carried a very angry aurora, eyes narrowed as they surrounded the two. Looks like He found his answer... and owed himself money. Great.

Zake groaned as he regained the air that had been knocked out of his lungs from the impact. It took him a minute to realize why the ground felt so warm, soft, and fluffy. With a startled cry the tom found himself shoved off of the other cat forcefully. "Ow hey!" He glared from the ground, standing up sorely. Zake tensed, noticing he had pissed the other tom off, and was wondering if he would have to fight the stranger as well as the will-o-whisps.

He relaxed slightly when the male's gaze left his, only to tense right back up again when the whisps circled them. "Oh for the love of-" An exasperated sigh left his mouth, taking an offensive stance while withdrawing his two hooked swords. Was there any way he could just relax for one night without those blasted things hunting for him Glancing at the tom from the corner of his eye, he felt a small pag of guilt having dragged him into this. "Sorry bout this man, I didn't think anyone would be out this far at night."

Stepping back towards the other tom, his icy gaze seemed to whip back and forth between the surrounding flaming creatures.
"Apology accepted, but we got bigger problems to be worrying about that... " he growled, glancing over his shoulder at the darker feline, "How the hell did you manage to piss these things off?" Aza would ask curiously, his deep gruff voice sounding irritated and confused. Looking back up at the Whisps the jailer swallowed hard, he was never one for magic despite having the ability, he had never really had to much practice not to mention the power he possessed wouldnt do much to the burning bright creatures... nor would his sword... but it was worth a try! Paw going to his long sword's hilt, he'd slip it from its sheath, it slipping from the leather in a fluid, graceful motion.

" We gotta get outta here or we're going to be crispy.... Tell me, do you have anything to snuff the flame? A cloak ? " He waved his sword at the floating beings, trying to make them back off as they drew in closer.
