One, two… Three! A staff twirled into the air in a circular blur of movement, hung in the air for a moment at the top of its accent, then fell back down into the awaiting paw of the Shade. Even in the dimming light of the setting sun, Rorick was able to expertly catch his weapon. He quickly kept the spinning momentum going before bringing the staff behind his back and passing the still spinning piece of wood to his other paw. He finished the trick off by sending the staff twirling into the air again and catching it in the opposite paw before stabbing it vertical into the ground. It stayed standing on its own for a moment, before slowly starting to tip over.
Rorick plucked the staff up before it toppled completely over and went back to waiting for the Shade Kaiser. At first, the brown tabby had worried that this patrol with the Kaiser was a bad thing. Was it something Rorick had done on a previous hunt? Or what his quota on caught criminals not as high as it should be? So many questions. In the end, the Shade had decided it wasn’t worth fretting over. He’d find out soon enough. The temptation to start spinning his weapon again ate at him, but Rorick resisted this time, not wanted to appear too lax.
