Reed smiled back and nodded. And when she mentioned firefly catching the tom's ears perked and he looked around and slipping the guitar off his back and leaning it against the table he darted away and grabbed a paper lantern off of a wire and took the light out of the inside and took his bandanna and tied off the open end of the lantern so that here was a flap they could peel aside and put the fireflies inside "sure!" he put it on the table and dropped down on all fours watching one of the insects fly by "we can make our own lantern" he purred.

Kycin smiled, and watched as he made his own firefly lantern, then spotted more of the insects shining around the field, "We can catch some here." she pointed before standing from the table. Making her way towards them, she cupped her paws and caught one floating by, making her pawpads glow from it's emitted light, and looked back to the tom, "Caught one!" she laughed and made her way over, opening the flap of the lantern so the firefly could go in, and a light shone, causing her to feel relaxed and secure, it was a thing she had, lights made her feel more comfortable, but having a friend beside her was better than anything else.

He pounced and caught a firefly. "got one too" he purred and took it and then gently carried it back to the lantern and putting it in. The two insects circled each other and and pulsed behind the paper. "Come on lets get more" he purred "and then we'll have a real lantern" he went back and started catching more. Now there were a small bunch of them flying around. He took the lantern and set it in the grass and lay down next to it looking up at the blinking insects above their heads. "Thanks for hanging out with me today" he said under his breath a little.

Kycin laid down beside the lantern, watching the little glows dance around inside, emitting their light, she smiled, and looked up to see the fireflies freely floating around. She looked at the tom, "It's okay, I have to thank you too." she mewed, quiet, and tired. She then curled up beside the lantern, focusing on the lights before laughing, "Thank you." as if she was echoing her other sentence. The noise from the festival was only mere, and she was glad to be with her friend away from it. Ears ringing with the loud laughter from it was gone, she felt safe and secure, but the guilt of her not getting Reed a pastry was still there.

Reed sat up, draping his arm over his leg, his other stretched behind him in the grass. "I have to get going soon though. Roran will be waiting for me at home in a few hours and I still have to give out my other pastries." he looked back at his guitar to make sure it was still leaned against the table. He scooted back and grabbed it and scooted back and started strumming slowly on the strings.

Kycin's ears drooped, she hadn't had this much fun in ages, but a cat had to return to their own home, she was sure she'd go to the ship. The sound of a guitar rung in the air, she looked and saw the tom strumming a song, and she sighed, curling up and watching the lights again, "Reed." she mewed, "Could we please meet again?" the last words slipped from her mouth. Having time with a friend was something to cherish, although, she was bound to meet Reed again since they were both pirates.

Reed stopped strumming and then slung the guitar back over his shoulder and stood up and helped her up as well. "Of course, I'd love to meet up with you sometime. Besides, you still owe me a trip to the market to gather supplies" he purred happily and pulled his hat over his head a little better and then picked up the lantern and held it between them "you ready? watch this is the best part" he pulled of the bandana and within seconds they were surrounded by fireflies that flickered around their heads and slowly flew away. But for a second, it was as if they were apart of the night sky surrounded by stars.

Kycin found herself on her paws, "Of course." she smiled, and watched as he opened the lantern. The burst of such light streamed around them, and she didn't help but laugh and admire such beauty the creatures were. As the floated away, she looked at the sky and breathed, she hadn't had this much fun in ages, and she was glad to find a friend to write down memories in each other's minds, "Quite beautiful." she grinned. Rubbing her paws, she tilted her head and grasped her cloak closer towards her as a chilly night wind blew over the field, "Well." she shrugged, "I'll be off to the ship, matey." in her last words she mimicked a pirate accent.

Reed smiled and took a deep breath as the fireflies skimmed off into the skies. He looked over at her "uh huh, stunning" he muttered after she mentioned the beauty of the glowing insects. He looked over at her as she gave him a pirate-esqe farewell. "All righty" he nodded but then stopped her, putting his paw on her shoulder for a second. "Hey, uh, if you ever want a nice homey place to sleep at night you could always come back to my place. I could set up an extra bed in the back room" he didn't want her to have to go back and sleep on the ship all by herself. "and then in the morning we could head to the market."

Kycin looked over her shoulder, and her face brightened, a nice place to stay? "It'd be too much of a hassle." she mewed, she could cope with sleeping on the ship, although it was too much of a solitude to be around whenever the crew wasn't there. She'd be too guilty to accept. Grasping her cloak again, she felt the breeze pick up. But going to the market in the morning sounded like a good idea. Awkwardly shrugging, she cleared her throat, "If you insist." her gaze turned to the festival, the noise was still going on, and she was sure both of them would be glad to get away from it, "Really, thank you, honestly."

Reed was glad that her face brightened and tried not to laugh as she argued with herself about going back to his place or not. "yes I insist" he mewed smoothly "and you can count on it anytime" he gave a small bow and then led the way back to his place "I'm sure that you'll enjoy it. Roran would be happy to see you again" he purred as the two of them moved through the lit streets back towards the main entrance to the city. There their house sat, right on the small stream that ran through the streets. The moonlight filtering from the moon shown on the water and cast small beams of watery light onto the wooden boards of the house.

Kycin followed him towards the house, watching the other houses go by and the land before them. As they approached, she felt comfortable and quite homely, the lights were filtered from the window and was complimented by the reflective stream. She could already feel the warmth from the atmosphere, causing her to smile, "Your house is way better than my 'ol' shack'." she laughed, although still wishing she could return a favor for the tom, "You sure Roran won't mind? I almost killed him by showing him how to swing off a pole on the ship." a smirk went on her face as she looked at the house.

Roran's face appeared in the window. He pressed his face close to the glass and put his paws above his eyes, trying to see through the window. He swore Reed should be home any minute. He wasn't usually out this late. He felt a small stir of anxiety. He wasn't used to being in such a crowded city, and the idea that his brother was out there somewhere at night bugged him. He smiled and waved franticly as he saw Reed approaching. He then tilted his head as he noticed he had company. He rolled his eyes. It looked like a girl cat, but he wasn't quite sure who it was yet. He went to the door and opened it, now able to notice Kycin. "Hey Reed, Kycin" He smiled and motioned to Kycin. "Is she coming inside?" He winked at Reed.
