The sun had made it's way down beneath the horizon as time took place for sunset. The clouds in the sky reflected off the light that made a bright feel. It was a good day. Kycin had left for a walk in the forest, something she liked to clear her mind off with. Something had been missing in her mind for the past few days, and a fuzzy emotional feeling had been churned up, maybe it was the lack of seeing friends, she didn't see the Blue Blood crew either. And who would she meet on this walk? Oh, a few birds. The feline sighed, she should go off on an adventure to Rithengar. Though the weather was getting cold, she wasn't so sure on going alone. And besides, after the raid with the Blue Bloods she gained a few schillings. But what to buy? Maybe gifts. She made her way towards a solemn looking tree, smiling slightly, nature sometimes amused her, and how it could portray a personality although it wouldn't speak or move.

Now in the autumn of his third year, Leif was finding himself more subdued and listless than he could ever remember feeling. All his life he had craved constant adventures, change, excitement and creativity. It had led him to reject a solid occupation, brought him out into Rithengar with the need to explore. And explore he had, a wanderer on his own, for no less than four seasons. But homesickness strikes even the most adventurous, and he had felt compelled to return at last. Not least because of the festival he'd heard tell of. Oh, but how things changed after that! Friends he'd made, and acquaintances, fights, and nights spent curled with another warm body under the stars. And somewhere along the way, he'd realized... He didn't want to go back to being a wanderer. He was happy here, even if things were difficult sometimes. He jangled the bracelet on his left wrist, lost in thought, and didn't even notice the she-cat approaching the tree he was lounging in. He sighed heavily. Change was all well and good, but at this level, it really could be a little bit... well, frightening.

The distant sound of a jangle and somehow the presence of someone familiar, Kycin flicked her ears and felt her fur rise, she couldn't trust her own senses. Being a wanderer meant having to keep a lookout for any danger, and now in Rithengar forests, alone, or was she? Quietly drawing her paw onto her new cutlass's handle, she stood still. Who, or what could it be? The feline drew her sword out however. Whatever feeble or strong, she would try to fend off any danger, unless it was a harmless cat. Without turning her head, she placed the edge of the sword near Leif's neck, not intending to kill the foe or friend. Swishing around, she held the sword in her paws. Her eyes met with a familiar and dearly loved (as a friend of course) face. Leif! "Sorry to scare ya." a chuckle came from her. He still looked the same ol' Leif she knew.

"Wh-aagh!"
The last thing Leif expected, while lounging blissfully unawares in his tree, was that someone would actually attack him. Once the initial stunned miliseconds had gone their way, and after the frighteningly sharp sword had been removed from his tender vitals, he was free to flail in surprise. And flail he did, scuttling sideways on the branch and promptly falling out of the tree. But fortunately for felines everywhere and Leif in particular, a cat always lands on his feet, if a bit painfully. Shaking out his jarred paws, head still reeling, he glanced up at the tree, intent on giving his attacker a good scolding on the honorable ways of face-to-face combat. Unfortunately though, this was not to be. After all, he could hardly begin chewing out his best friend after weeks of missing her. "Kycin!" He felt his whole being lift in the joy of seeing her again. "Sure did scare me, too. Yer already in th' Hallow's Eve spirit, eh?" Giving a pointed look at her apparently shiny-new blade, he added, "Better watch where ya swing that though, you could put an eye out with it."
((It's 3 AM. If this is anything less than coherent, I apologize. It'snotmyfault.))
