Cool raindrops fell into the water of the hot springs, sizzling and causing sulfurous steam to pour up and around the area. Blazing red maple leaves covered the surface, creating what looked like a layer of fire above the water. The combination of the leaves, rain, and steam, gave the whole scene an erie affect, but the ghostly white she-cat sitting on a rock by the edge did nothing to help. Ailish breathed in the damp air easily, feeling a gentle breeze pull through her fur, making it damp with the sulfurous air. One of her paws dipped into the warm water, creating ripples in the already rain-agitated water.
Ailish always seemed to think of things in a sort of funny way: her favorite season was winter, she loved rain, and she disliked the summer. Here at the hot springs in the fall was one of her favorite places to be, the steaming water mixed with the fallen leaves and the patter of rain made everything seem peaceful and serene, and she felt as though the whole place had been taken out of a painting.

The clouds overhead looked like they were about to come crashing to the ground. Thunder rumbled ominously overhead, and heavy rain pelted down, making splattering sounds on the rocks, trees and bushes that dotted Gweillan's landscape. Most cats were inside, avoiding the weather and enjoying the company of their friends, family and a warm fire. Most cats anyway. For those who didn't have anywhere to go, it was a tree, an abandoned shack or the forest. Not the greatest of choices.
Still, rain wasn't really all that bad. It was like the earth was licking itself clean each time it stormed. All the dirt and grime was cleaned up, leaving the world fresh and full of life, ready to be explored again. Raven's pelt was heavy with water as he made his way towards the Hot Springs. It may have sounded a little strange, him heading towards the springs when he was already soaking wet, but there was a major difference between the rain and the springs; warmth. And as much as Raven liked the rain, he didn't really feel like suffering out in the cold longer than he needed to.
He was shivering by the time he got there, sighing in relief as the warm air from around the springs hit him. Raven wriggled happily, removing his belt and amulet, and picking a pool near the middle. The rain wasn't as cold as it had been been, thank goodness, and he was grateful. It was only when Raven was poised to get in the water that he noticed another cat nearby. "Oh," he meowed, looking over at the white she-cat. "Hello there!" [/color]

At the sound of the noise, the white cat instantly jumped, sliding off the rock and into the water, she turned around to see what had caused the disruption and instantly noticed a young blue tom. Ailish laughed at herself quietly and got up. Water dripped down from her long fur, but it was surprisingly water resistant, and after a few seconds, had fluffed up to it's normal thickness. "Good afternoon!" she waved, instantly struck by the likeness of this strange cat and the pirate captain. She cocked her head slightly, but said nothing, instead turning the conversation to him.
"Isn't it a little wet outside to be going for a stroll?" she raised an eyebrow a bit, wondering if he would point out that she was outside as well. It was a bit of a foolish question, but good means to judge a person by, those who would point it out would clearly be sharper than those who didn't. Or perhaps just more polite, she couldn't be sure.

Raising a paw in her direction, Raven fumbled out an apology as the she-cat got back out of the water, fur dripping. But apparently she wasn't bothered much by the wetness, because a few seconds later, her fur had poofed back out to it's regular shape. Raven tilted his head to the side, not certain whether he was impressed or confused. When she called out to him, Raven shrugged to himself, dismissing the matter.
"I could ask you the same thing," he remarked, slipping carefully into the water. "I mean, it's a bit wet out to be walking, much less bathing. But the water here," he said, gesturing at the spring. "Is much warmer than the water up there." He finished, pointing up to the sky.
Raven sighed contentedly, as the coldness left his body, replaced by a delicious warmth that spread it's way throughout his body. He wriggled happily, and then looked over at the fluffy white she-cat. "You're welcome to join me over here, if you don't mind that company!" He called across, smiling.
