Ace sat in the beach sand, the grains gently poking him like little pins pricks all over his legs and paws, the wind tugging at his fur softly. His hood was off, cloak sit rested on his shoulders, and his glovs on his wrists. The oceans water only a few feet from his hind paws, all he could feel was a little wet sand underneather. He thought of going in, letting the cool water lap at his fur softly, but a part of him wanted to go back to the shelter of his home to work on the things due for the King. The tom just layed there, staring at the soon to be settling sun. He laied back on the sand, it was going cold from the lack of sun rays above, it felt good, sending a little shiver through his spine. He turned his head to the left and gripped a pawful of sand, he lifted his paw up and let the crushed rock slowly desend from his palm then watched it fall on to the forming pile, "There is only a one or two more days left before straight snow," he thought aloud, the last week or two had been snow, but today the sun metled most the the ice to let him come out to his favorite place in the whole island. Ace dropped his paw and turned in attention back up to the sky with was still a blue color, an hour of two of sunlight. He smiled and closed his eyes, "If I'm gonna go for a swim, this would be the day," he chuckled. [/center]

Though the cool autumn air steadily changed over the course of a few weeks and the brilliant colors that the season was famed for withered away with it, Lana looked out from her bedroom window and heaved a large, discouraged sigh. Her breath clouded the windowpane and she lazily lifted a finger and drew a saddened face that mimed her longing hope that it would soon snow. ‘What was the point of winter without any snow?’ She wondered with a little pout and looked upwards at the sky as if her wishing was powerful enough to encourage the heavens to drop their hoard of snowflakes.
Since kithood, it was Lana’s philosophy that the moment winter began, the city was to be blanketed in a thick white sheet of snow. She certainly could feel the change in the temperature and the air definitely felt icy and nipped at her nose- a sure sign that winter snuck up upon her once again, so why hadn’t it snowed yet? With one last look out her window at the clouds, Lana pushed herself away from the window and stomped out of her bedroom angrily. She marched down the stairs, crossed the kitchen, and in her short temper, she hastily reached for the back door, pulled it open and shut it with more force than usual after she stepped out into the open.
The gray Snowshoe stood on her stoop for a moment with her front paws placed upon her hips and her lips pursed in irritated thought. ‘Oh phooey,’ she thought, ‘I thought maybe there was something wrong with my window but it certainly isn’t snowing out here.’ She slid a single paw from her side and lifted it above her head and held her breath as she waited to catch a wet snowflake but she was sourly disappointed after a few moments of wasted anticipation.
“Well then,” she said, frustrated but trying to push her negative feelings to the back of her mind. “What would serve as a reasonable substitution to such disappointment?” Lana crossed an arm across her chest and with her free paw, tapped her temple in thought. She had hoped that the new season would deliver her new entertainment- she was really looking forward to frolicking playfully in the snow and didn’t account for any changes to her master plan.
“I suppose I’ll just go to the beach,” Lana finally concluded. “The ocean always seems to cheer me up somehow.” And with that, the pretty she-cat stepped off her stoop and made her way towards the beach. The journey was so familiar to her- her father was a fisherman and her mother was an artist who greatly enjoyed painting landscapes. Lana grew up near the sea by following her mother and father around and eventually, she began to explore the shore on her own- to fish, to swim, to explore and find hidden treasures. She felt extremely comforted by the gentle lapping of the waves sliding up and down the sand and she always imagined herself as a little fish jumping in and out of the water just for the sheer fun of splashing around. The more she thought about the water and the beautiful sunrises and sunsets that she never failed to miss from her special spot on the beach, the less she cared about the lack of snow.
Once she reached the beach, Lana paused and looked over the sand, the waves, and drifted her attention towards the horizon. Many a time as a kit she wondered what lay beyond it- if the there was more to the ocean than what she saw or if there were other kingdoms like the one she grew up in. She never thought she would actually be able to explore that horizon and discover the answers to her girlish wonderings but once she joined the pirates she realized that she didn’t need gills or wings after all- she just needed a ship and a bunch of good friends. Mere words couldn’t express what the pirates meant to her, not only did they let her sail the sea like she always dreamed but they also gave her a family. She didn’t like to discuss how painful it was to watch her parents fade away… she didn’t like to think about how lonely she really was. After joining the Blue Bloods, Lana realized that she didn’t have to feel so alone anymore. She felt like she finally had a place that she could go and feel like she was part of something important. She knew she wasn’t very strong or clever- but those cats chose her and depended on her. Her cooking skills were limited but her desire to improve herself for her new family members was infinite. She would do whatever it took to hold onto her new family and friends- she couldn’t bear loosing her loved ones again.
As she padded onward and looked for a nice place to settle down, Lana noticed a cat sitting before her. It took her mere seconds to recognize the figure and once she was able to put a name to the cat, she leapt up and down excitedly and squealed cheerfully, “hey! Volfy! VOLFY! It’s me, Lana!” She waved at him, a huge smile spread across her kind face and she hurried over to greet him properly- in her excitement however, her paws stumbled against the sand and as she neared him, she fell and slid downward, covering the last stretch that distanced the she-cat from her friend.
She bumped into him and flipped over onto her side and hoisted herself to her feet, laughing. “Hehe! Sorry about that,” she purred cheekily. She blinked and fixed her bright green gaze upon the sage, “I hope I didn’t hurt you! I wouldn’t be able to forgive myself! I’m sorry Volfy. I could always run back to my house and get some bandages. I don’t think I see anything that calls for them,” she examined Volf’s back, where she bumped into him and shrugged, “but you never know. There could be some internal damage- not that I am a doctor or anything. I know nothing about that sort of thing.” She paused for a moment and then brightly began a totally different conversation- it almost seemed as if she completely forgot about bumping into the white and gray tom and offering to fetch him medical help, “hey! Do you come here often? I just love the beach. Mind if I join you? I was pretty upset that it didn’t snow last night. I heard that it was the first day of winter but I didn’t see any snow. Did you?” She took the liberty of sitting next to Volf and looking at him intently as she waited for his response. “I mean, it can’t snow when everyone is asleep and then just totally VANISH, can it?” A shudder ran through her body. “Ohh, how dreadful! I hope that isn’t true.”

The grey tomcat laid on his back for a few minutes, his right arm lay on his stomach and left by his side grasping one of the new decorated daggers that the Blue Bloods gave to him, they were a bit fancy compared to the sword at his home that he only used in case someone came into his home to brake in. But he’s never had to use it; he was a well-respected cat through-out the kingdom, though most cats knew ‘Volf’ couldn’t fight worth a schilling. With his pirate team in mind, he brought his paw up to the blue cat necklace the lay on his chest, cold on one side and warm on the other.
He began to think about his time with the Blue Bloods, his time had been so short with them, only a few months. But so many big things happening to him in those short months. He remember his first day with the crew, it was the same day he found his cloak and gloves, Spider showed him around to the other cats of the crew. He was assigned Navigator Apprentice to the cat, Storm, the cat looked familiar Volf had probably seen him around town before but had never paid attention. Then going on his first quest, which was when his whole split personality came into play for him. Then the raid, that where he worked with the new cat Othello but previously met Coral and Storm, who he later found out that their real names where Lana and Kite, interesting names he thought when he first figured them out. But then quickly came the most resent raid, where like a flash he was a full Navigator. It was so fast, a little to fast for his liking, but he knew there would be lots more adventures and raid he would be able to do.
He tom flipped to his right, keeping his eyes softly closed, curling his right arm around his head and let his left paw lie in the sand, gripping a pawful and let it seep through his fingers, feeling little pieces getting suck in between the small webs between his fingers. His eyes open quickly, he pricked his ears back, and lifted his head, "Hey! Volfy! VOLFY! It’s me,-" was all his hearing could pick up. He propped himself up on his elbow a few short moments later, thinking it was just his imagination. But he soon figured out it wasn’t, the Javanese was abruptly hit on his back sending him forward a bit, “Ack!” he exclaimed, but them he repositioned himself to see the cat flip over and quickly recover itself. He relaxed, letting his ears fall a little and let a smirk appear across his face. It was Lana, or Coral, his fellow pretty Blue Blood member. He was taken aback by her rambling to see if he was okay, he lie a paw on her shoulder, “Lana, Lana. Lana!” he meowed, his voice getting louder, but still having a little amusement, “I’m fine!” he chuckled, slowly taking his paw of her shoulder, “It was only you tripping, it only knocked some of the wind out of me,” he reassured her.
The tom then listen to her continue with her talking, "I do come here often actually, I write most of my stories here. This place has a very calming effect really," he meowed in a soothing voice, to see if that would calm down some of her energy that overloaded his previously calmed body. He sat himself up and felt the rock grains fall of the top part of his torso, ”Oh gosh, I didn’t see this,” he thought, still listening to the she-cat about snow, “I didn't see any snow, but I heard it snowed here while we were off on the Quest but most of it melted because they had two straight days of heat. I don't think snow has that ability Lana, I think it will take more than one night to melt a snowfall, unless it was a very light snowfall. But I was up late last night; there was no snow if you want reassurance," he meowed, starting to rid himself of the sand that snuck its way into his thick white fur. “So what brings you to the beach this afternoon?” he meowed with a smile, still looking down at his torso, now that he thought about he was going to start a write up about the new species that cats have been finding around the island, but now that was before his energetic friend showed up and she seemed in need of someone to talk to.
